Wow Che! That's awesome. If I happened upon a load of hats like that I would probably fall over! Hats are kind of sparse around here (other that cowboy hats of course)

Che, what a fantastic little travelling mecca!

An'A, Thanks! :) I got to have a little fun over the weekend with a few concerts.

My work's chamber series collaborated with an indie film company in town to give a concert of two hilarious Charlie Chaplin films ("1am" and "Rink"), with a reconstruction of music and live musicians exactly as it would have been back in 1903-1916. There were no oboes in that ragtime ensemble (so I got to watch!), but I was asked to compose and ad-lib a silent short comedy film from 1912 on unaccompanied oboe between the other films. We had a fantastic Chaplin impersonator as well, and it was a blast! Also a rare occasion for me to actually be able to wear my Paris-made 1890s-1900s melusine topper. Here are a few pics:

On another note, I ran into this gentleman from Britain on Saturday. He was in town for his daughter's wedding, and dressed to the nines! Vintage grey pin stripe suit with a wonderful wide blue paisley tie. He told me he got the duds in the 70s. He was also wearing a very sharp looking grey fedora of conservative dimensions.
Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was a modern wool Bailey with an underwelt, and I have to say it looked damn sharp on him, especially framing his long, wonderful, scraggly white mutton chops!

Instead of playing guitar with Jasper Acoustic this past week, I played a little percussion. I have been playing drums far longer than guitar and for a small steakhouse setting, the Cajone was just the instrument for the job.
