I thought about you, Cuz, but it was a spur of the moment trip and I didn't want to last minute you, especially with all the mess going on these days. I'll head up when the world is healthier and we'll have some proper beer drinking. Maybe on a day that's not so blazing hot.

Glad you were off call and able to get away. Crazy times, indeed. Yes, the heat has sucked the life out of me this summer. See you soon.

It’s a Panama... but in a fedora shape. And it’s not a field... though it used to be a beach. So I think this little adventure from last month fits here perfectly

The Dome Home located near Marco Island, Florida was built on dry land back in 1981 but after a couple hurricanes and decades of coastline change these intriguing structures now sit about 300 feet off shore in about 12 feet of water and have become a part of local folklore.

Great hat! Glad you got out between all the rain the past few days.
I can't believe I didn't know about that structure. I will have to take the family to check it out.

Took a Sunday drive with the kids up to Pallisades Park atop Ebell mountain, then went down to the bottom to explore the creek running under the Horton Mill covered bridge. The second photo is my kids sitting in a tiny chapel built on the edge of a cliff. Hat is a 4X Open Road that's seen it's better days.
I love your adventures, Dale.
Thanks

That shot of the bridge from the river level is spectacular! But after seeing it from that angle, I'm not sure about how willing I'd be to try to walk across it. :p

Thanks Al.

I wasn't too keen to walk across it because it's still in regular use, and not really wide enough to get comfortably out of the way if you were to meet a car coming over it.

Hi Dale
Have you ever been to the Dismals? I went there in about 1998 when we were back in Decatur to visit the old neighbors. its cool in there. PERSONALLY I'd go in the first week of August when being "an average of 14 degrees cooler" is helpful.

Hi
I worked at Boeing on Space Station from Xmas 1990 until Halloween 1994. I lived on Westmead drive behind the mall for two years and some condos over by "The Old La Casa" before that. Our neighbors had two girls, one my son's age, one younger. We went back in 1998 and then in 2003. I miss the area BBQ and the white sauce. The hiking was great too.

Cool. I Worked for the City for 25 years but left in 07 as soon as I retired. People travel for Big Bob’s BBQ chicken and white sauce.
