Happy to, Jim. This’ll get you started. It’s available by the bottle in the groceries around here and it’s probably available on amazon. I’ve only had it served with my chicken in the little styrofoam cups they served it from in house and to go orders. I’ve made my own as well.

Ahhh. Essentially coleslaw mix... and here I was thinking it was moonshine. LOL. Now you got me thinking of soaking the cabbage in shine and then making slaw. Hmm maybe a topic for a different thread.

Well, that's not at all what I expected. I'll have to give that a shot on the smoker.

There used to be a BBQ joint around here that had "Tennessee White Beans" on the menu. They were a baked navy bean with a white sauce and they were great. I've been trying to reproduce them for years, with limited success.

Hi
Never tried to make it, which is probably some form of mistake, but I believe it's by measure 1/3 Mayonnaise, 1/3 white Vinegar, and 1/3 black pepper. PERSONALLY when I make it the first time, I'll measure out 1/3 black pepper and put it in SLOWLY while stirring. it's white with lots of black dots, but it ain't GRAY sauce, it's WHITE sauce.

There's three recipes in there, didn't add up all of the liquid, but it didn't seem to come to the same amount as the Mayonnaise.

Hi Dale
Have you ever been to the Dismals? I went there in about 1998 when we were back in Decatur to visit the old neighbors. its cool in there. PERSONALLY I'd go in the first week of August when being "an average of 14 degrees cooler" is helpful.

I have not visited the Dismals yet, although an overnighter to see the dismalites has been on my to-do list for awhile.

I have had my share of Big Bob Gibson's in my time, however. I'm not a terribly large fan of that white sauce, but their regular red sauce on their pork suits me just fine.

Saw a house built by Frank Lloyd Wright. This is the Rosenbaum house, in Florence, AL, an example of his Usonian style built in 1940.

Going stir crazy in lockdown and took a little road trip. This is Knights Ferry, California. My paternal great-grandparents used to live here. My father was a schoolboy during The War and when his hometown of Placerville (80ish miles to the north) had an outbreak of polio that closed the community my father went to Knights Ferry to stay with his grandparents.

It’s a gold rush era community and one of the few places in California were the population is less than it was 100 years ago.

Knights Ferry is best known for its covered bridge: the second longest extant in the US.
