Ha ha DD.
Not surprised, trout hound to trout hound!
I ALWAYS wanna go, but never get around to it.
But...by gosh when i do, even if i get skunked, i show em the best darn hatted trout hunter they’re ever gonna see!! Lol
B
You are by far the best hatted trout hunter! I was planning to head for the Sierras right after the 4th, but got the chance to have my granddaughter for a week! Fishing will resume the 17th!

I certainly hope you chased some trout while stomping around!!
Nice straw. You look happy to be home!

No fishing on this trip, though my boy was looking in the water for some. I'm liking the idea of going fishing with him more and more but I'm thinking probably one more summer before he's ready. He did get quite a kick at the artesian well nearby too:

I'm still young enough where I'm wanting the opportunities and experiences afforded by a larger metropolitan area, but the older I get the more I find myself missing "home." There are some signs of slow growth, but on the whole there seems to be more decay as evidenced by the growing number of vacant buildings. Sort of depressing, actually, to drive through some of the downtown areas. Apparently meth has been a big problem too in the area over the past few years.

That being said, if you like water (and the outdoors in general) it's pretty tough to beat Upper Michigan. I was fortunate to be able to grow up here, a thought that becomes more apparent with each passing year.

So, here I am in front of Alfred Bierstadt’s “Domes of the Yosemite” wearing my go-to Milan by Art Fawcett. This is an amazing work!

Here’s Allen giving us some additional perspective of the scale of this painting

Taken at the Desert View Tower near Jacumba CA

I got off the highway to get this pic of me with Mt Signal in the background.
Thinking of changing my FL handle to Desert Rat!

The California deserts are among my very favorite places to be. I have found so much inspiration and peace there, plus my allergies go away and I can breathe! Nice hat and pics.

My mainstay field hat for the rest of the AZ summer. An inexpensive throw away outdoors working mans hat. I buy a new one every summer. But for a sturdy light weight one size fit all palm it’s hard to beat. $29 @ shoes.com and they have 30% off specials regularly so $20 plus free shipping.

I don’t care for the lamp shade style brim it comes with so it gets adjusted a little
