Fedoras afield

I found a Red-tailed Hawk this morning with a broken leg. It had probably been hit by a car overnight. I could only get about 20 ft from it & it would get so worked up I was afraid it would do further damage to itself. I happen to know the Game Warden for the county so I called him. He came & met me at the site. As we tried to net the bird it could still get up & fly but only for about 20-30 ft. When it got tired we finally managed to throw a net over it, & he was going to take it to an aviary rehab place to see if they could save it.

Good work and hat, HJ. One of my favorite birds. There's one that hunts around here regularly.

Visited the state museum, which opened on 31OCT1941, inside the original Carson City Coin Mint building, from 1870. photos taken by my wife, I'm wearing a c.1930s Stetson

majority of photos were taken inside the mine exhibit, which is actually underground. Really laid out well, and captures the mood perfectly. She didnt take a photo of each exhibit and display as her phone finally died in the taxidermy area

Very enjoyable Justin, your wife did well. This place has changed dramatically since I visited some 30 years ago. Very high tech of museum science. Isn't there a railroad museum in that town? Want to go there too.
Yes there is!! We are planning on visiting that one in the near future as well. There are quite a few museums here, some are old houses, others are dedicated buildings like this
