We are still looking over the hat, we have looked into a tip sticker, Hatco at this time thinks it would cost to much to tip stickers.

I know everyone is looking forward to the price of these hats, as soon as I get all the smallest details worked out with Hatco and inform them what I want on the first order, pricing has not been talked about at this time between us, I am not going to take advantage of anyone on the hat, I have to look at over head, labor to look at each hat before shipment to make sure the hat is not damaged , boxing the hat, box used, tape and time all these things add up in the long run and have to be added to the cost of any item.

Hang in there until we have everything looked down, the FL people will get the offer first, one week in advance of all others, that way the FL memners get the hats needed before any one else.

I first off want to thank The Major and Rusty for ALL their hard work with this project. I love the prototype thus far and after reading through the prior couple of pages, I really like the idea of having a liner in the hat. The proportions of the prototype are really mid-40's/50's proportions and the Strat from those years did come with a liner. It would be nice for the winter to have a liner and in the summer it can always be taken out. Im a huge fan of vintage logos and emblems that Stetson has used through the years. While on the Hatco tour, we saw numerous liners that Hatco uses for all of their lines. I think that with the addition of an upgraded sweatband, there should be a different "upgraded" liner as well. The liner used in the prototype is the same liner used in Stetsons modern cheap and expensive dress hats. I doubt a nicer liner would add much more cost to the hat, but will add a bit more flair to it. While on the tour, a picture was taken of liners that Stetson has, and I found the picture. In the picture I have circled my favorite 4 liners from the tour. I think if there was an "upgraded" liner, it would really set the look of this hat apart from a "stock" model and give it that extra vintage touch.

+1. You should be able to hear cheers and applause from my northerly direction.

Thank you Josh.

If it all works out . [thanks to Matt]
We will have a liner and a sweat that everyone here will love.
I know that a lot hope to get this hat soon, but I really think fall is the time to expect it.
The Major and Matt can give more info on that when the time is right.

Dang Deputy... that diamond looks good!

+1!! That hat looks sooooooooooooo awesome. If thats how good a diamond looks as a dry bash, I can just imagine what kind of things people can do with steam. Now Im really getting excited!!

Looks great with the diamond crease.

I can see there is going to be lots of eBay competition for vintage DC3 & Stratoliner pins too!

Let me add, I removed the pin from my hat before posting photos.
The Major [and Matt has also put in his .02 ] is not sure if he will use the new pin or make available a copy of the DC-3 pin that came on the hat.
I do know if he uses a pin it will be the new one or the DC-3. As a Stratoliner plane pin was not used on the hat, thats not saying anyone could not use that pin, Mike just will not carry it.
I am almost certian Mike will want the DC-3 pin. But I dont believe that will be a problem.

Guys, is the felt color the same on the two prototypes? The RBH one looks light grey and Mr Dean's more like Winchester's Silverbelly.

If they are the same, which of the sets of photos is closest to the actual colour? I believe I read that Silverbelly is the name of the felt colour?

Thanks!

I am on it even as I type!

And is a model name embossed sweat still being tossed around?

That is something being talked by Mike and Matt.

Man, this is too cool. Check my post out here on the Lounge about thin ribbons.
Back in '06 I started the Stratoliner Society thread.
Little did I know that I would be a part of this!

Thanks to all of my 'pards' here on the Lounge that gave their help in this endeavor!
