It was shipped from HatsDirect last Monday and arrived today. No pics, because my wife hasn't given it to me for Xmas yet. Heck, she doesn't even know she's giving it to me for Xmas yet. We're both going to be so surprised!

Now I've got to get back to studying those non-Indy bashes! Z

I have a Fed IV Deluxe on the way too, shipped the same day as yours. Not here just yet; I'm waiting on a moonstone. I'm wondering if the winter storms in Seattle will keep the cargo plane from landing before Christmas.

My wife knows it's my Christmas & Anniversary present (our anniversary was Dec. 21).

I have a pretty good idea of your anticipation! Enjoy!

I ordered a Fed IV Deluxe in Dark Brown last week myself. I ordered mine on Friday though. I figure that I will probably see it sometime late next week. Post what you think of it and some pictures! A little vicarious living should help me stand the wait.

I've bashed my fed IV standard, 3 times now, and really fell inlove with the "maltese falcon" bash and absolutly love it. I am still thinking of a way to convince my wife to let me get a couple of different colors.

I can't believe how smooth and precise that bash is. Is that a matter of patience, technique, experience, or all of the above? Z

I ordered mine and am hoping it will come today or tomorrow. Mine's a dark brown. My wife found out by looking at my online account. She asked, "Did you order another hat from some place called The Hattery?" I said, "No, I thought it was from Hatsdirect!" :whistling

Merry Christmas to you all,
rrog

Great job! Be sure to put it in the Akubra Overload thread, as well as the Non-Indy Federations.

a little of both, I wouldn't say I'm experienced I only have 4 hats http://www.thefedoralounge.com/images/smilies/grin.gif

one big advantage, is that since I don't have a proper steamer, whem I completely redo a hat, I use a wet bash, so I have plenty of time to tweak it.

Johnny, Did Your Moonstone Fed IV arrive yet? I ordered the same color on the 11th and am still waiting for it, I'm wondering if the Christmas rush hasn't held it up somewhere. [huh]

I thought I had a chance of getting it before Christmas, but Seattle got another several inches of snow overnight. It's turning into a freak snow accumulation and very little of the city is plowed or sanded, and is not salted at all. I can't imagine the vehicle it would take to make a delivery at the door today. Here's looking out my front door this morning:

The Sea-Tac airport has been shut down several times and many flights have been canceled in the past week. I figure the mail plane hasn't even been able to land.

Hang in there Johnny! I had given up hope on mine arriving until after the holidays but it was waiting for me when I got home tonight. I'm sure yours will be there soon as well. Moonstone is a very nice hat color and it sets the Fed IV style off nicely.

AH - but the cargo plane from Hats Direct lands at Boeing Field! And there's less air traffic there, so it may have gotten through earlier than you think. The PO's backed up with Christmas deliveries, so that's where the delay may be. Our postman skipped two days this week - so much for "Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night..."
