Our postman skipped two days this week - so much for "Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night..."
Just shows how differently tax payers' money is used in different countries. In Finland, if you get an inch of snow on the road/street, there will be someone clearing that road in a few minutes. Only the worst blizzards can momentarily overpower the power of the machinery clearing it away, but even then it will be only the least used roads in the rural areas or on the outskirts of cities that suffer for longer than a couple of hours...

AH - but the cargo plane from Hats Direct lands at Boeing Field! And there's less air traffic there, so it may have gotten through earlier than you think. The PO's backed up with Christmas deliveries, so that's where the delay may be. Our postman skipped two days this week - so much for "Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night..."
Well, the fact that they land at Boeing Field may help some, but it didn't come today. I'm not so much bummed about having nothing for Christmas as just that I like my tawny fawn Fed IV a lot, so I'm really eager to bash and wear the moonstone Fed IV Deluxe.

I talked to one of the UPS drivers that covers my area and he said that the Seattle area UPS is about 5 days behind on their deliveries. I may not see it until next week.

And Here it is!

Quick bash and photos. Cannot quite capture the dark brown color, which has some lovely green to it. I'll try again when I calm down... Happy Holidays to all!

How does that bashable Heritage felt feel? That's one reason I had to get a Deluxe this time around. It's the only soft-bash hat available in Heritage felt.

My std. Fed IV has a Deluxe sweatband in it, which is noticeably softer. How do you like the Deluxe sweatband? And how soft/bashable is the felt right out of the box?

Great-looking hat BTW. Congratulations and enjoy.

The felt on this hat seems to be thinner than my Banjo Paterson. This is my first open crown hat, so I don't know how to compare bashability, but it seems pretty pliable. It holds top dents, but I can't get it to hold side dents. I'll try a wet bash after I decide on a shape. Overall, I'm having a lot of fun, though the responsibility of shaping the hat is actually kinda stressful. The finish on the felt feels very nice - just like the Banjo. But I don't have any non-heritage Akubras, so cannot compare. The sweatband feels great, but most leather eventually does for me. Z
