Hi Max:
She’s 2 1/2 now. A cute hat story for you Max. The other day that i posted the white Knox Forty, i went over to watch her. I placed my hat on the lampshade as always. Her 3X LD sits right next to it. She walked by and said “I like your new hat Pop Pop” as casual as could be. That was the first time i’d ever worn it there.
She’s pretty hat smart and sharp as can be.
B

Fifty years ago I delivered a presentation at the AAAS meeting in Chicago about the impact of pre-school experiences and how they stay with children as they develop. I used the irrational fear of snakes expressed and reinforced by parents' actions as an example learned during pre-school that can stay with a child into adulthood.

My now 30+ yo daughter is fearless, but careful. This weekend she and I orchestrated a snake encounter for my 2 1/2 yo granddaughter. Faye oozes curiosity, is tentative, but unafraid. This was a capstone experience for me.

Love it ! I’m the same way with my granddaughter. I used to have a lot of pet reptiles among other animals, and I am passing on my interest to her. She wants me to buy her a Scarlet Kingsnake, LOL.

Our Easter was very quiet. Just the three of us (Hubby, Lily, I). She still dressed up and did an indoor egg hunt. We greatly missed having Grammie & Papa (my parents) over to celebrate with us. Talking on the phone was not the same. View attachment 229065

We are living in such strange times.

Strange times for sure. It'll be something to remember. She's getting so big. Hope y'all are well and safe ..... and stay that way.

We are well. She is getting big! She stands just under my chin. But I am what Hubby calls "fun sized", like a little candy bar that is smaller than regular size. She is petite for fourth grade (just like her mama was). :)

Her shoe size? 2.5. Her bestie? 8.5! (Are't they adorable together? Best friends since the first day of Kindergarten.)

Our family has taken up the hobby of hiking this year. It has helped with our physical, mental, and emotional health. (Lily hates it, though. But she's a hormonal tween girl, so not much of life makes her happy - except a Starbucks frappuccino!!) We live in a gorgeous area for hiking trails.

On Mt. Rainier, a cold 43 degree hike. Oh, the grumbles about the weather!!

In the middle of the Snoqualmie River, on the way to a local waterfall.

In the Redwoods this summer, after I took about 50% of the contents of her pack, because she'd overpacked and she could not go One.Step.More. Hubby captured me having a Very Firmly Worded Conversation with the girl child about how her choices in life impact the lives of others. Ooof. That was a looooong hike back to the car.

With my sweet Hubby. We enjoy making Lily barf with our PDAs.

Hubby and I hiking a mountain for his birthday. We ate lunch at the top. (I did not feel One Tiny Bit of guilt at the choice to send Lily to school that day, and played hookie with Hubby. We call it Parent Sanity Time.)
