Like that hat. I have been talking with Nik, and Parker, about a new hat and since my Caribou Stetson Saxon is about the color of granite, that lends me to charcoal (dark grey I am guessing on his swatches chart) or steel. Silvermist is a bluer hue on the monitor and dove would be perfect but not offered in rabbit and only Art does that.
I've confirmed with Parker that the dark grey Winchester felt color and charcoal Fespa felt is virtually identical. Art labels his as charcoal, and Rabbit has confirmed that he uses Winchester as well, so my take is that Parker labels his per the manufacturer label instead of specifically calling it charcoal.

At any rate, with either the dark grey beaver Winchester or the charcoal Fespa, the real test will be to match it up with my Charcoal Stetson Playboy. My guess is that the Stetson will only appear lighter due to fading, but that overall it should be the color I'm looking for regardless of which felt I had chosen. In the end, beaver was my choice in hopes that this is going to become my daily wear and I want it to last.

I also have an order in with him for a hat to give to my father as a birthday gift (hopefully he's not lurking on the site) and it's a steel grey staple rabbit felt, so I'll definitely be posting pics of that as well when it comes in.

Looks like Parker extended his holiday offer until Friday, with guaranteed delivery by February 28th.
I've been wearing my black cherry lord's hat a lot lately, and the Virtuoso a bit as well. Boy, those are nice lids!

I ordered one for my dad, too, last Father's Day, and got in line for another for myself in the Fall. Still waiting for both. Is it weird that I kind of want to cancel both of those orders in order to get in and reallocate for his holiday promo in hopes that my dad and I will receive our hats in two weeks?

I ordered last week and was told delivery in 10 to 12 weeks

If I was waiting on a previously ordered hat, that offer would cheese me.

It's already March in Atlanta.

It wouldn't be weird to feel like canceling the orders and re-placing them. But I don't think he would necessarily honor that. I wouldn't if I made a promo like that. However, there is the question, "What happens to the other orders in the queue for months?"

I've been wanting another hat from him, but I wasn't able to do the promo. That leaves Northwest, Tumwater, or VS a more convenient and quick option. But Parker can really finish a nice hat, whenever he actually gets it finished.

Well, it arrived yesterday, and it was well worth the wait! I asked Parker for a reproduction, as close as possible, to the hat Tom Hardy wore in "Lawless." He really nailed it!
Natural colored staple felt, 2 7/8" matching bound brim with a high front pinch/teardrop. The rust colored ribbon is pleated perfectly, pleating away from the center square on both sides.
It's definitely a wide brimmed hat, but I think it works great-- see the full length photo below for a sense of the proportions.
I look forward to roughing this up a little (over time, of course!).

Nice hat, Jeff! Glad that finally got completed for you. The color combinations look terrific, and he definitely nailed the reproduction! I never heard anything about the movie, but it looks pretty cool. I need to put that on my list of "hat movie" rentals. Enjoy it!! :thumb:
