This is the new Chinese food. Turkey Rice. This is what happens to all of those unsold turkeys. They get shipped to The Chinese.

The phenomenon of steak fried rice. The most basic of ingredients. Eggs and rice. Stir fried. Topped with steak.

The X would say, "what do you call that?"

I don't call it anything. It's just food. I'm Chinese. I made it. So it's Chinese Food.

Fill a pot with chopped tomatoes. Cook it until it's reduced by 75%. The pot of tomatoes should only be a quarter full.

Cook a piece of inexpensive, low cost meat. I like red meat. Beef. This time, it was sirloin.

Make a few eggs.

We have tomato beef, tomato egg, steak & eggs. Very traditional Chinese dishes. All in the same meal.

Apparently, there's always meat at my house. Or so, The X says. Tonight, there was tri tip again. Carved thin. On a sesame seed bun. Lettuce. Tomato. Salad dressing. Why? Inflation. I can't afford to go out for a meal anymore. I can't even afford fast food.

Just for fun, I sponteanously tried Bratapfel/Baked Apples for the very first time.

Wasn't bad! And I had something to do for my old Silit roasting dish. ;) But next time, I will try bigger apples.

The Chinatown Falafel.

That's what I call it. All beef meatballs, coated in flour, deep fried.

I wonder if vegetarians will take umbrage, when they discover meat in what was a chickpea meatball.

Pastrami. Salted piece of inexpensive beef. Steamed.

Corned beef. Salted piece of inexpensive beef. Boiled.

I had a tri tip which was rubbed with salt and pepper. Just overnight. Not 100 days in a barrel of salt. Not overwintered in a salt brine.

Instead of roasting it, I decided to steam it.

Incredible. It looked like a piece of well done beef. It tasted like salted beef. I was able to slice it on the bias. The meat was tender, juicy, and melted in my mouth.

This is my life's work. My greatest achievement. I've done something that nobody else has done. It also shows how petty and meaningless my life is, and how little I matter in society.

Why is it that we only eat turkey once a year?

Why is it that we only eat corned beef once a year?

I am eating corned beef, and it is not St. Patrick's Day.
