Hi all
it crazy traffic
I decided to make an experience with A2 Us Auth.
the jacket was put into the tub with hot water (15min, plus minus 45-50*C.)
then I dried it in <it is important > lying position / plus minus in 50*C
then the jacket was only polished shoe polis
I made this experience to jacket fit better
whole jacket has decreased from 42 on 40 (plus minus )
the skin is still soft and thick, and wonderful patterns appeared on its surface which adds old character to it
pics before ; it outside , whit bag
pics after ; in house

Looks great, both before and after. Did you use colorless shoe polish or brown one? Interesting to see shoe polish does work so well, just as I assumed.

colorless shoe , yes KIWI is very good .
but now I feel much better, before a little long jacket and sleeves irritated me
Now can see all welts, belt and cuffs;)

I did the Hot Water Treatment to a US Authentic jacket in Goat. It uniformly shrank about 5% on every dimension, just like your experience. This made the jacket fit much better, and didn’t seem to hurt the leather or lining.

I never thought of the clear shoe polish, but your jacket looks very nice!

Thank you for opinion , it very nice :)
Jaket in real looks much better,I intend to replace the pullers ; cuffs and waist (other color maybe olif , khaki or light brown ) plus patches sleve and front jacket
USAuth it's great jackets, you just have to give them something from myself, give them some time and work.
I once had in my hands old A2 from RMccoy ,maybe it sounds unbelievable but to be honest differences in quality; thickness skin, color, texture of the skin would be really small vs USAuth .

Great results.... :) It's good to see another example posted which illustrates to the naysayers that indeed, the HWT does work to take a leather jacket down a size or two. ;)

I've shrunk-down many leather jackets over the years successfully, and have only ran into problems with a few... Vegetable-tanned goat comes to mind as problematic, as well as an expensive USA-made horsehide civvie A-2, which I later found to be made from cheap South American horsehide of inconsistent thickness....

I really want to give a US Authentic horsehide jacket a try. I quite like it. Nice russety russet. Shaul has some really cool styles. But that G-8 is calling too.

Good photos, black/white especially.
It's important that under these manipulations the zipper was not affected (but could).

I recently picked up a US Authentic in goat skin. The jacket fit but was roomy to say the least. I gave it a hot shower til it was saturated then bagged it and put it in the dryer on low heat for 10 minutes at a time. I'd remove it put it on and zip it up wear it around til it cooled back down and then dry it some more repeating the process til it was dry. The result is a much more form fitting jacket. It lost an inch from the back measurement going from 26" to just under 25". I was pleased with the results.

such an experience should be added as user manual in USauth mfg - + the tab shrinks to match;)
It's perfectly matched!
Congratulations

Ps
really who is able to say now, looking only at this picture and not knowing her name company;
is this jacket historically correct?
Or would anyone recognize hers name company only from this photo? I doubt , it's hard to say it. Maybe it Eastman?, GW ? ,Aero RMc? Buzz .o_O
I think he could only distinguish and say ; it is repro ......or original......
