Ever chosen a forum name you regret?

I use my middle name on just about every forum I'm on. My first forum name was the nickname I was given by my old bike club, Offramp however I joined a forum where that just did not seem to fit so I decided on McMurdo as it is my middle name. When I was growing up I did not like my middle name but as I've grown up I have become proud of it.

Perhaps you have something like that to use as your forum name.

I first tried to register with "Unkraut" (play on words, being german) but I overlooked that the FL doesn't accept hotmail accounts. My current one is just too long but was the first thing that came to my mind after the other one was denied.. [huh]

Smithy, you weren't the chap on Chapel St wearing an Irvin the other week were you? I has my ALC Irvin on and we chatted for a wee bit?

Hi Flashy, alas it wasn't me, although my Eastman Irvin has been getting a workout over the last week or so, brass monkeys at the moment!

Sure, I hate my user name - only I started using it somewhere and then it seemed convenient to use it on another forum where there were people from the first forum and then... I got used to it.

"Flicka" is Swedish for "girl". It's also the name of a horse in the My Friend Flicka-series (she was named by the Swedish groom Gus if I remember correctly) which I admit I loved at age 8. So I'm both a girl and a Golden Era horse heroine. Very, ah, sophisticated. :eusa_doh:

Now you didn't happen to have Breyer horses when you were growing up, did you? I know they were very popular with the girls when I was a kid.

No, but I can tell you right now I would have loved those! I was a bit horse mad until I found out I was allergic and had to stop riding. I live about 2 min from a stable - very pretty mid-19th century buildings - and I still occasionally get the urge...

Pic I took of one of the horses the other day:

Maybe I should make it my avatar? ;)

Good. We don't need no stinking Marc!

(seriously though, it would be funny if you were Marc.)

So - it seems you must know this Marc fellow. Who might we have the pleasure of addressing? And do you prefer Mr. or Ms.?

Well, my real handle on this forum may reflect , I fear, my personality; a rather common, not terribly expensive talking machine with little current collector value, whereas "J. Peasemold Gruntfattock" is the name of a character who has been described as "a walking slum...", and as the world's dirtiest dirty old man (who wanted, above all else, to get his hands on Judith Chalmers). He was also the self-styled king (later dictator) of Peasemoldia, a small slum area in north London just off the Balls Pond Road, together with his wife Buttercup, whose catch phrase was "Hello cheeky-face!"

Actually, they may well both reflect my real personality! {SHUDDERS}
