HDRnR - Yeah I thought so too. I was loathe to part with them but it was pointless me keeping them as I'd never be able to wear them. So I reasoned I was better off selling them to recoup part of the outlay on my Beck's. The toe shape is about the best I come across IMO. Thanks for the tip on Wesco's bump toe. I wasn't aware of that. I hope you Linesman's serve you well for many years to come.

BTW the view of the sole wasn't working in my Carolina's post so I've fixed that.

Yeah Wesco also has other options that are not listed anywhere, kind of like ordering from In-n-Out Burger.

I have these Jackson Engineer Boots in Jays post and really like them. Because I wear a 13 I prefer the lower profile

Can anyone report on the sizing of the "ebay" Work America boot? Fit true to size?

I have the Work America Boots and, to me, they fit true to size. My Chippewa Engineers are size 8D and I can wear it with boot socks and without insoles. The same goes for my Work America's - they are size 8. The width, however, looks to be an "E" (Definitely feels like a "D", though). They are a great alternative to Red Wing 2268's.

I may write a review of them on my Engineer Boot Blog since I've had quite a few questions on them recently.

I posted pics on an earlier post within this thread:

I wrote them not too long ago about leather soles just like a pair of 40's Engineers and, yes, totally doable.:eusa_clap I just can't get over their 3-4 month turnaround time. :eusa_doh:

Ahh, just go for it, I've waited alot longer for my Langlitz.

Ohhhh, I want my Wesco Boots "animal style"
If by that you mean with the Bump Toe then so do I, with the 40s rubber on leather sole that marineabilly found is doable also. I'm already talking myself round to spending the money I can ill afford on a pair.

I have owned my fair share of Engineer Boots - 2 Pairs of Skechers (they're not as bad as you might think), a pair of Chippewas, and a fantastic older pair of Durangos with Goodyear branded soles. However, I think it is time to go the custom order route to get my perfect pair.

I have been doing some thinking, and I am pretty much set on ordering a pair of Wesco Boss Engineer boots though Big Black Boots.

I have been mulling over the details, and this is whatI have so far:

- Redwood or Brown Leather
- 9165 last (standard Boss last, NOT the 9109 Bump Toe last)
- Vibram 100R Non-marking Lug soles
- Natural Leather welts, midsole, and heel leather (no dye, just the raw finish)
- Extra Leather midsole
- Nickel (silver) Hardware
- 11" height, standard straps, etc.

I am having a hard time deciding between the brown and redwood leather colors. If the Redwood was a little less orange lookng, I would probably already have my mind set on it, but I'm not positive yet. Do any of you have a pair in this color? Here are a few pics of the Brown and Redwood colors:

As for the lasts, I called Wesco directly and spoke with Pete in their custom fit department. I told him that I wanted the most rounded Boss toe (when looking down at my feet) and he said that I shjould go with the standard Boss Last (9165). He told me that the "Bump Toe" 9109 last is vertically taller, but horizontally, it is a little narrower when compared to the 9165. He sent me some photos to illutstrate this, and I thought you all might be interested in seeing them.

The 9109 "Bump Toe" last is the yellowish looking one in the photographs:
