Those boots are way cool, but look at those stupid jeans on the same page.. for approx. 400 (!!) bucks you get back-pockets at the bottoms even if vintage-correct (?), it just looks plain silly.. freedom comes at a price, ey..lol
edit: after some rethinking, the pockets could be handy for stashing all kinds of stuff in it, but, the jeans should really be tucked in a boot (I guess that's a preffered way for cyclists?..) just to hide those stupid pockets...

A package with a pair of Chippewa 97863 boots arrived a few hours ago. A belated gift from the holidays, as it turns out, and an appreciated one at that. Everything looks good, and I cannot wait to get more time in them.

How long have you been wearing your Work America boots? I was a little surprised to see that "Work America" boots are made in China. I'm curious to see how they hold up. Do you know if the company is also Chinese?

I've been wearing my WA's for over under two years (give or take). They hold up against my new, vintage and expensive engineers. I've had no problem with them. To be honest, I never paid any attention to where they were made.

Ok i gotta ask for advice here, about the Redwing 2268
Finally I got the boots. They are beautiful.

Problem is that I got size 8 when I asked for 7.5
I am a size 8 in sneakers, but heared the 2268 runs big.

Now when I stand still they feel very comfortable, moreso then i
thought they would. Feels like I have the build up under the
foot in the right place and the heel feels really good.

BUT when I walk with them they dont stay on the heel.

Im asking for advice because they are kinda hard to get on
and Im a little scared that half a size smaller will actually
be to small. I have to use force to get the foot in there
and my sock leave my foot halfway when I get the foot out.
What to do?

Should I try an inlay sole? or should I send them back?

They dont look big, its sucha small difference to my other boots,
it could also be beneficial to be able to remove the extra sole
and add a thicker sock in the winter time.

Im gonna wear them fall and spring too so they have to fit
even with a normal sock. Will they mold to my foot?
Is an inlay sole good idea or should I just send them back?

it really presses hard against the upper foot.

Have you worn pull on boots before? I pull on western boots most of the time, and the fit can be a little hard to judge. The upper of most boots will eventually mold to your heel and the boots will slip a lot less. However, if the boots are significantly too large, the heels will never fit quite right. Do they feel too wide in the heel, or does it fit close around it? My gut reaction is that if you're having to use force to get them one, you don't want to go a size down.

As to your sizing issue, I'm not familiar with these boots, so I'm not able to tell you much. Most work boots will tend to run true to size or a little big. However, I have no experience wit htthat brand of boots. Marineabilly might be more of a help since he owns a pair.

I used to wear snakeskinboots all the time before.
I cant remember them being loose in the heel.

I think I just need to find some sort of sole or heelcup
that doesnt build up but instead a litle bit around the heel.

The heel is not loose, but it isnt tight either, I can feel
the sides of the bootheel against my heel and just standing
they feel perfect. Its just a little slip also, the heel dont go up far.
The upper part of the foot is actually snug so I really dont think
I can use a smaller size.
Using thin inlays they are really tight where the strap is.
Seems like Im just inbetween sizes.

I do think they feel wonderful when standing.
My cowboyboots never felt this good.
I am surprised how comfortable they are (minus the heelslip)

They are also very heavy, wich I like

Great looking boots! I think you should stick with the size you have. Maybe try just a heel insert instead of a full insole - that is what I did to mine and it helped a lot.

I had a pair of these for a while. Really good looking boots. They do slip a bit on the heel, but they do stretch a bit elsewhere and the heel issues settle down (or you stop noticing them). I would say if they feel OK for your toes - not too tight, and your foot isn't sliding forward and pinching them - then they fit. I found the toebox too narrow on mine, but they were steel. Useful, but uncomfortable.

If I dont find it I think im just gonna use them and
see if they mold some and if not, then I could just
make a leather piece with sanded off ends and glue
around the heel. I have lots of small pieces of leather.

I remember now that when I got the snakeskinboots I was
a badass boy and they were very tight and my feet bled
and sometimes I had to use plastic bags to get the foot in there
Ill post pics sometime they cost over $530 and I have
both black and natural snake.
I remember getting a keyring along with the boots, hehe
I think they were Tony something, but this is over 15 years ago.

They dont slip anything, just the heel.
These are steeltoe, but my toes are very happy inside.
They arent tight at the toes, very comfortable.

Basically they are comfortable in heel and toe, but snug on upper foot.
Im thinking they will relax abit there and if they do too much I can just
strap them some, now they are loose on the strap.

If the heel settles a little Im good in theese.
