After some research and actually looking at boots I ordered some Carolina boots. 179 and a 30 coupon making them 149. I'll post when they come but they do seem to be the equal to Chippewa and Chippewa doesn't make an engineer without a steel toe anymore. There may be some old stock somewhere but still, twice the money, nope don't think so.

I like a high toebox, so I decided to go with the 9109 last. These are the NOS Wesco Anniversary 1939 Boss boots in tea-core Horween horsehide. A couple of dog walks and a commute so far.
You think? I think they walk quite nice and that the green sole is maybe a little softer than a Vibram 705. I guess I end up walking a bit more than a mile in them each day on the commute (little more today as I had dinner with my brother in the Village) and they seem fine to me. In all honesty, as I was running for the 7:54 Hudson Line train at GCT today, I actually thought to myself that they are remarkably comfortable for an engineer boot. But then I grew up in Sweden and love clogs, so... ?How does the heel feel! I have these too but they walk funny. Like on a wooden block.
I think there are two MP lasts - MP1339 which is narrow and MP95 which is wide. Almost all the MP boots are built on MP1339 but the charcoal anniversary boots were MP95 I think. Chris Warren at Wesco could point you in the right direction.Wesco MP is a little narrow for me. Their Boss is great.
Cool! Want to tease us with some specs?I’m working on a pair with him currently.
