New Viberg Horsebuttock Engineer chelsea last

reminds you of....Attractions??? Much much much more ergonomic!

So, the hide comes from a well known italian tannery that supplies horsehide to Schott. This is the thicker version of the Schott leather. I dig the all black look but obviously Viberg marked the he’ll up as this leather is cheaper than Horween. Anyhow, the boots looks dressy & fits well outta the box. You are standing on leveled sole, not tilting forward.

Question: how do you know which last works best for you? Seems like a tough trial and error. Also, the same regarding heel height. I've always been an off the rack guy, but with some makers offering a fair amount of customization, i'm wondering how you gentlemen know how you want your boots.

To be honest, I don't really know which last is best for me so I try to keep things pretty standard. My Viberg's, Lofgren's and Wesco's were all of the shelf returnable, the Role Club's I also went with the standard configuration as that was what I fell in love with when I first saw them, bare in mind that Brian does do made to measure so whatever last you pick they should fit so it's more a matter of taste.
As for heel height, I thought long and hard about changing my order to the lower version, but in the end decided to keep them as Brian designed, as I assume he knows what he's doing more than me so went with his make up, glad I did actually as these are so comfortable on me.

Personally i cant stand the tall heel like on a pair of loggers. I dont feel the need to have my head in the 6ft4 range. Its amazing how a couple inches really opens you up to beating your brains out on low hanging things.

I got them the end of July

Yup, but I've been keeping them clean and well polished lately! Will post updated pics. The leather has taken on an interesting patina.
