I just ordered a pair of Road Champs last week and expecting them to come tomorrow. I thought the soul was leather with no rubber? I'm kinda bummed.

The new batch has the same Nitrene halfsoles as the black Champs and Trooper boots. I think it looks killer.

But dayumn, I've been on the list for nearly 2 years and I see all these folks getting Champs thrown at them! Hope I get an email soon. But they're worth the wait.

How do you know about the half sole? I suppose for slippage it is a good thing.
I think I got real lucky. I inquired about the boots. Peter said he may have a pair coming in my size, (8.5). He asked if I'd be interested if the guy backed out and I said sure. He email me back and said the fella had passed on the boots so I hopped on them. Like I said they should be arriving today. I'll get some pics out.
Good luck on yours.

Thanks, mate. Road Champ pics are always welcome! I've seen the halfsoles on every recent pair of brown Road Champs and I believe I've seen Christophe comment on Instagram that they're standard on this batch. Now idea about any upcoming batches, though.

Ok gotcha. I'm not on Instagram or anything like that. At least they are half soles not the full monty. I'm taking a half day off to be home when they arrive as they need to be signed for.
This place is addicting AND expensive!!

@Killick I have a brown pair of road champs without the nitrene half soles and a black pair with, the half sole makes them much nicer (and wearable) in my opinion.
The new batch look to be a darker brown color but still very cool.

@Boyo thank you for the reply. I was thinking about having no nitrene and winter wear. They would be slippery for sure. Looking forward to this afternoon. I hope they fit!

My pair did look a bit different in person than the pics on their site but that's leather for you. I felt like they looked lighter than the one's on their site.

Mine also smelled strong of super glue used during construction.

I was also expecting the sewing detail on the vamp strap to go through the upper but it doesn't. It's connected where the counter meets the upper.

Overall they're real nice.

I did get my boots today. As with Mark above mine are slightly different than the description on the website. The heal nitrene is way thicker and not the cats paw as shown in the description. I'm sure to the purist it would bug them but it's OK with me. My pair does also have the half sole nitrene. Over all the boots look very nice and well built, (they should be for the price).
I put them on at 11:00am and wore them until 4:30, 5 1/2 hours. They felt good with no discomfort at all. The left one is a bit looser since that foot is a tad smaller but once I walked around a little I didn't even notice. I shot a few rounds of skeet in them and again I didn't feel anything odd or painful. They fit really good. Oh, both of my big toes push up into the leather a bit but that's just my feet.
All in all I'm a happy camper!

Just got my new custom Boss.

Initially I wanted the 7400 model, but my shoes size, the MP toe and the standard heel weren't compatible together. So I decided to go with the western toe

I really like them, the black tie domain leather is more supple than the burgundy domain, very comfortable. Breaking them will be a piece of cake.

I also like their new buckles.

So freaking sweet!!!

I feel guilty I was able to get these so quick when you've been waiting and waiting and waiting and... I can't say they've been worth the wait since there was none for me but they will be worth it to you.

I actually wore them to work today since I had to do a lot of walking and wore them skeet shooting again. In 3 days they are already much easier to get on and off. My left shin is getting a bit sore from the top of the boot rubbing but it's my leg not the boot. When I was a young man I was in a bad motorcycle accident having a double compound fracture of that lower leg. The leg is a bit funky now lol. I have a nice soft deer hide that I'm going to cut a piece and fit it to the inside of the boot to lessen the roughness of the seam if it persists.

Not to worry, my friend. When the Black Road Champs were announced in July of 2015, I only had to wait 3 months to get my pair. I guess they can't really control what sizes come in. But I've got the Black Champs and my 8 other pairs of engineers to hold me over until the Brown Champs come in.

And don't worry about the comfort for a bit-- the Road Champs, in my experience, are very comfortable right out of the box and only get better with time. They are by far my most comfortable pair of boots.

what size are you? I only had to wait a few months for mine. I wonder why some people have to wait way longer. Maybe your name got removed on accident?

Oh good! You're as bad as me, (worse), with engineer boots. My vice was cowboy boots but still not that many.
When I did ride bikes I didn't want to be like the flock and wear harness or engineer boots. I wore a pair of Tony Lama cowboy boots. Still have them. It's funny how boots can be like an old friend. Jackets the same way.

I'm a size 7.5, but I've emailed them multiple times over the past 2 years. Only 3 weeks ago (feels like a lot longer) Peter told me I'm the next one up for a size 7.5, so it shouldn't be too long. In the meantime, gents, please enjoy your boots for me!
