Me too. too much risk, regardless the reward for something unseen and then add the custom bit...I'll need a fit jacket for that kind of dough.
Yea it’s unfortunate that a lot of Japanese styles don’t support broad backs. A reasonable uncharge might put a lot of us in line for a purchase, but.....that’s just too much money.

Hmm... My base price qas a bit lower and my custom price was much much lower

The upcharge entails a full bespoke pattern, ie. creating a pattern just for the customer. And that includes redrawing it on paper to make sure the stitch works makes sense. Considering the work involved it is actually pretty reasonable. I get the feeling that if he gets popular, he will stop offering this option.

I wonder if that's b/c you'll be able to do an in person fitting. Bit of a bummer but far too much risk for me.

I get the feeling I was the first person to ask for a full custom size, will update this when I get my jacket. I asked him to wait until I go to Japan

These are great, but Japanese sizing rarely fits 46L.

Thanks for sharing and good luck with your purchase. I'll be watching this thread for fit pics.

I have asked for the maker to wait until I go back to Japan as I would rather take it directly from there. So this is likely going to be Late Spring. This one was bespoke, so the fit is going to be hopefully very good :)

I don't mean the craftmanship and style of the jacket (everything looks top notch), I'm just not sure if the leather feels like a mall jacket.

As you know I was there and handled the jackets. The reason he chose calf skin is because it has the optimal balance in frimness for his jackets (I asked him about using deerskin and he said it is too soft for example).

@red devil Thanks for your more detailed explanations. For some reason I‘ve overlooked that you‘ve been to Electric Leather Studio and for sure you know now that the quality of the jacket including the calf skin is excellent, otherwise you would not have ordered a leather jacket during your visit. I‘m really looking forward to your review (I hope I haven’t missed it). Again the last one @handymike posted is a real beauty and my favorite one of their portfolio and by knowing now that the leather quality is quite good, too I really hope that I can resist because I‘m done with leather jackets
