great looking silhouette and honestly I like the back panel more than the front,
the color combo works, but with this layered panel they look more like sculpture, I think a monochrome looks better so you see different depth in the same color, or how the shadow plays on those intricate panels in the same color probably you can appreciate the detailing more, while 3 colors would make it too obvious and lost some of its artistic feel.

So you would still see it as a single shade of grey, or would you go for a completely different colour?

your choice of color combo works, however in my own personal opinion perhaps one color is better to show the layered panel with different depth and all that I think if you walk under natural light a one color jacket would show more depth than with multi colored panels, again just personal opinion

Absolutely amazing @red devil - thanks for putting me onto this. I would want the lightning, twist and church. I would like to go out there and order myself, maybe in 9-12 months' time. I was thinking of hiring an interpreter because you say the guy does not speak any English.

It's interesting how many people in here say they don't have the balls to wear one or it's too crazy for conservative tastes. There's only so many black and brown jackets one can own...

Imagine the lightning in two tone!!

I can help you out deal with him if I am around, I get the feeling that I will be visiting the shop every time I am in Tokyo :D

I was thinking about church and lightning as well. Actually thinking of all his 70s style jackets

I really like the fact that he hits a different period and style while focusing on coming up with his own designs. He is clearly highly creative!

If we're unifying this into its own thread, then I will repost his D pocket.

I don't think I would wear these, but I love looking at them! Incredible stuff. I have seen their work for Mushmans and that seemed excellent. They make some really cool leather vests for that shop. These 70s jackets aren't my thing, but they are even more impressive!

Just an FYI...a custom jacket (which is what I would require, I can't fit into the stock options) will set you back around $2.2K.
Another chapter closed for me LOL, I'm LOL'ing through the tears....but still...LOL'ing

Beyond the price itself I'd be very concerned about having one of these custom made without the ability for a fit jacket or being measured. Red Devil is fortunate enough to be able to visit the shop first hand, so he has eliminated all if not most of the risk.

This is what he emailed me today:

Regular size can be shipped overseas.
PayPal settlement and EMS delivery
Design custom and irregular size orders can only be made at my store
The size and price will be posted on the blog.

So you'd have to go to his store anyway. Unfortunately I can't find the size information on his blog but from what red devil said, it's usually for small Asian frames and I'm a 42 and "growing" lol. Generally I don't buy without either being measured up first or trying on, so I'm in the same boat. I will do it. I just need to make more money.

Yeah he told me the largest stock size is around 22" p2p. I'd love one but I'm not able to travel to Japan and get fitted...Suddenly a $2K jacket becomes $10K. Just no. Maybe if I were young and single, but probably not.
