Well, while I had expended my December hat money (by Dec. 2, as Gene reminded me;) ) I have now spent January and February's but I got a really nice green Stratoliner for the credit. I feel like the Federal Government, except I'm spending my own money and not someone elses', in advance!!! lol lol lol

Mr. P., that is well worth dipping into future funds for. Outstanding!

Thanks everyone. I missed it the first time, but the seller was gracious enough to re-post it and remove the reserve, so I made another run at it. I think a green Strat will be the perfect addition for my little thin ribbon crew!

Rollable Borsalino

I picked up this rollable Borsalino at what seems an eminently fair price. If the seller's measured 22 1/4" internal circumference squares with the hat's apparent "5" Punti size, this one should be wearable for me.

I can't say that I know a lot about Borsalinos, or the company's rollable hats, in particular. But this one certainly looked worth a try.

The liner says Borsalino, Alessandria. Does anybody know if this is an indicator that the hat pre-dates the company's move from the old Alessandria facility to its new suburban digs?

Good question. This one (a more recent vintage, I believe) went for just a bit more. Must have been the liner.

Cheers,

I liked that one, but it only has a 2" brim, is '60s (I think) and in the end, went too high in my opinion. Still, a nice-looking hat and liner I hadn't seen.
