Open Road, of sorts.. Dobbs Golden Coach

A solid fella in here tipped me off on this little guy.. BIN $30. I deliberated over it for a couple days, seeing what appears to be a little moth buffet on the front low crown above the ribbon, but I figured, what the heck.. I've never seen an open-road in person or a clone, so why not.... Your thoughts?

For that price, it's worth the gamble. That mothing might not be any big deal.

Good score, babs. I recently acquired a heavily moth bitten, modern Stetson. It's a western so the felt is quite thick. My plan is to alleviate the moth bites with sandpaper. Check the Conversion Coral for more info.

Found the thread. That's exactly what I intend. If I can work on the moth bite a bit with sandpaper (not sure what grit.. I'll have to do a little seaching), it'll let me keep the original band. I'm thinking the center dent might allow for a fairly easy rebash into a fed style (maybe?). Just pull the pinches forward and snap the brim.. Looks like great curl in the brim.

I finally found a ladies' hat that was worth bidding on. No opposition.

I have a vintage fox coat that will complement it nicely!

(I'll also post over in the Powder Room.)

Stunning! First thing I thought seeing that hat.. (as a total newb to vintage but fan of the classic movies).. Audrey Hepburn. Am I right to say that hat is very "Breakfast at Tiffany's"? Very snazzy, either way. :)

I already have a lovely black homburg. (And a brown one. And a gray one.) I guess it means that I'm well and truly addicted to have just landed another

Oh, my! Oh, my! Oh, my!

I saw that hat.. I remember a few choice words when looking at the size. Actually when I recover from this big OR clone purchase (yeah I'm a dad.. got bills), I want a grey hom and a Fed IV and I think I'm good... for now. One of each! hehe
