I already have a lovely black homburg. (And a brown one. And a gray one.) I guess it means that I'm well and truly addicted to have just landed another

Now maam, seems I saw you wear a size 7....I don't think those homburgs look good on you at all, nope, uh-uh.....did I mention I wear a 7 also? :D

Well done on that private label you got the other day. I looked at it but have exceeded my e-bay cash for the month:( .

Mr. P -

If it's any consolation, the one that was listed as a 7 is quite small - measures 21 3/8" - perfect for me :D .

Dobbs Boater

I'm shocked that I won this Dobbs Boater, and no one else bid on it. Looks to be no newer than early-'30s, and there's a chance it might even be my size. A matching box, even!

It looks like it has a similar sweatband attachment as ScottF's early Cavanagh Derby, so I can't wait to examine this one.

That one's joining its Whippet siblings at our house. It looks to be a beauty.

A fine addition to the kennel! Specials potential, at least, but I'd give it a Group placement or even BIS. Congratulations!

Just won this! The seller sent me more pictures and it looks like it has a couple of moth bites here and there. Is there anyway to repair moth bites?

If the felt is thick enough, they can be gently sanded out.

However, that seller has an awful feedback rating. And looking at his feedback,

It appears he has issues with describing items as in much better condition then they are. Hopefully you won't have issues though, but you have to be careful.

Also has issues with not bothering to send people items, and lies responding to feedback when the buyer has a complaint.

Well, I sent him an email as soon as I saw the auction with a couple of questions regarding measurements and he wrote back within an hour. I email him again asking him for pictures of the hat including the small divots he posted on the item's description and he sent back withing minutes 8 excellent pictures. Also sent him an email at the end of the auction requesting him to ship the thing ASAP. He wrote back inmediately asking when do I want the hat, said friday, he said will ship it tomorrow priority mail... fingers crossed. He seemed pretty responsible[huh]

Well, I'm hoping for the best on your behalf.

And 98% of the transactions still go well, so odds are still very much in your favor. But for North American feedback, that's pretty low.

Thank you, fingers crossed here. I'm fighting now not to be preocupied and paranoid. I hope this goes through smoothly:confused:

Now, tell me Aureliano....Do you talk to your hats?
Do they talk back?
Is it an interesting conversation?
