Glad to see you have your priorities straight Jared. Hope your dog stays healthy for years to come.

I understand.

Hope the doggo's OK. Next time we'll start a GoFundMe for you.

Thanks gents, the new vet thinks he has a heart murmur (that the old vet didn't seem to notice this past summer), but the real bill is his dental work. The high end of the estimate was twice that of the low end estimate (depending on if he needs extractions). Hence not a lot of "play" money this month.

Max just posted it on Instagram.

Aha, well, I wouldn't have won that bidding war anyways!

Sorry, Jared. I didn't know it was you...
Nice snipe attempt, though. I wanted this one so bad, I was worried about snipers, so I upped the bid really high at the end. I have been waiting for one like it for months. I hope you don't hold it against me...
Edit: @jlee562, if you ever want a hat and are worried about me, just let me know...
Unless it's a mac 100 or a Stetson Ermine, I will step aside.

Thanks Max, no hurt feelings here! Just bad timing on my dog's part! :D

Vet costs in the US are just as outrageous as medical and dental!!!
My son even took out insurance on his pets.
When his Husky broke a canine, I was shocked to learn how much a root canal, post, and a crown cost. It would have been waay cheaper for him to fly her here and back, even if I would have charged him for the work. It would have been fun!
I have a patient who is a Vet, and we trade favors, so he would've anesthetized her in his clinic while my endodontist performed the root canal treatment, and I would have placed a fiber post (3M makes some pretty long ones), and took the impression for the crown. I would've loved to see my lab tech's face when he looked at that model!!!

That is typical of my experience, a lot of bowlers you find will be smaller sizes and even the larger sizes can run about 1/2 size smaller than labelled.

Now I understand the agony of my larger-sized brethren. Great price on this, but the measurements provided show it to be about a 6 3/4 or 6 7/8. Even with the damaged sweatband, it’s a great hat. View attachment 317748 View attachment 317749

Victory (I think). Been looking for one of these for some time but always got outbid in the end. Poor pictures and some issues kept the price low on this one. Now if only the French seller follows through on the deal, we're there.

Haven't got a clue what I'll do with it, but it's just so cool.

I’d love to have one too. I would never use it, but it’s a great display piece.

I recently bought a Singer 66 sewing machine...I don’t sew and don’t have plans to learn, but it was beautiful and just struck me as a great piece of art and engineering.

I had one once. When I was satisfied with owning one I passed ot along to someone who could use it.
