Hat budget has been a little thin lately, but this little ditty won't break the bank.

Seller listed this as 50's, but I don't think Select quality returned after the war...no?

ATTENTION !!!

Just found this on eBay Europe:
"Vintage Imperial Stetson BOWLER HAT Failsworth Hats Ltd 1954 Black Made In England - 7 3/8"

Not my size or preferred style, but for 70 Pounds "buy now" not bad.
I assume it will sell fast, so if you like it, go for it as long as it's available.
Failsworth had the license for Stetson for England in the post-war years (from 1948 onward). They made very nice hats. It's not a bowler though, but an open crown homburg. I own two of them. As far as I know these always had the "imperial" designation.

It's a soft hat, then?
That's interesting. I have a soft Resistol I bought as a Bowler/Derby. I was surprised to find a soft crown.
Is it actually an open Homburg?

Yes, I believe it is. The shape of the hat, brim and the liner suggest it. Has happened to me more than once that I bought a hat listed as a bowler that was actually either a homburg or even a fedora (love those listings).

When sharing the eBay offer, I thought it was more or less obvious that it is not a true hard bowler / derby.
I have already bought some "open" Homburgs like that before; in fact even a German made Stetson Homburg in grey, marked as Excellent other than Imperial (I doubt there are noticeable differences in quality).

P.S.
If I could of bought it cheaper than the 70 Pounds, I would have took it myself and try to resell it here on FL :)
