Hmm, I don't really like reserves, but in this case it got the seller an additional $150 or so.

I agree, for an unworn S100 with the full set of items $500 is not a bad price.

Prolly just me, but with the rarity of 100's in good shape and complete like that I'd be too afraid to wear the thing with any regularity.

I wore mine to the dog park a few times :D

The supper club came in surprisingly fast...perhaps it was sent by pneumatic tube because it cure got compacted:

reddish/burgundy undertones on the felt

Size tag gone...any thoughts on age? I've seen a few on the Lounge that were 40's, and this certainly seems like the oldest Stetson I've personally handled. I was actually surprised how soft the felt was on this one.

Also, any suggestions on refurbishment? Optimo? Northwest?

They started using that size tag in the 40s, I think, but they used it all the way until 1958 or so. Can't tell without seen the liner and sweatband imprints if it is 40s or 50s.

Just got this one, Stetson Supper Club:

Will need a clean and block...perhaps new band because I'll have to stretch it a bit to size 7.

Ok I asked once before but its killing me . [huh]
Jared did you get lucky enough to score the brown one that was also up for sale ?
They came from the same estate sale and were being sold by the same seller and were offered at the same starting price .
I hope you did .

I thought it was a 6 7/8 because thats my size and I was watching that one and the brown one ( did you get that one too?) but pulled the trigger on another hat instead.

Stetson 100 with presentation case $500 on eBay

Wow. If that is the reserve, what was it before? I ask because I emailed the owner when he first listed it asking if he'd take $200 in a buy it now. He said no but asked what it was worth. I told him that similar hats in that size had gone for around $300. He then emailed back and said that he lowered the reserve according to what I told him. Cripes, if he lowered it to $500, what the hell did he think it was worth before my email to him????

Thanks! I swallowed hard when I saw the jump to $500, however, I was also glad my 'highest bid amount' was enough to win the auction. I will be reselling the hat though as i'm a 59 cm, 7 3/8 in. Open to trading for the right size if there's someone that's a 7 and has a 7 3/8. Otherwise I'm looking at getting it resized... any suggestions? I fired an email off to Optimo and called Northwest.

Yes, I've had a couple of hats with the OPS tag that had the older logo on the liner and newer version on the sweatband. (Might be the other way round)

Seems that was the time of the change and Stetson was getting through the inventory of older components.

My suggestion is sell it to a true size 7. Resizing all the way to 7 3/8 would drastically alter this iconic model that is a pristine example of a bygone era. Reblocking a 7 1/4 or a 7 1/2 is another story...JMHO
