By the way, that new avatar is in a class by itself. Not that they ever did, but nobody will ever fail to spot one of your posts! ;)

Bill Me Later

Just a FYI/friendly warning.
I have had an offer pop up recently (and it won't go away) to use Bill Me Later with my ebay purchases and it promises something like '$25 off' your purchase. I did a quick google search and found a long list of horror stories associated with Bill Me Later. To be fair I also found a few people who received money back from using it but they all had to jump thru hoops to do it. So buyer/ebayer beware!!

Not even by the double brim?
I know it's only 2/3 of a Stetson 3 Way, but I thought 2 out of 3 ain't bad. :)

(I'm not impressed either.)

... but, but Dobbs says it's "the most versatile and unusual hat" EVAH! So good it has a double life. It's gotta be good, don't it?

Me, I just look horrible in a stingy brim. Even three lives wouldn't make it work for me.

A brim made of two layers of extra soft felt ... What does that mean anyway? Any ideas? And what would that have to do with changing the shape from pork pie to snap brim and back again?

As Lefty says, 2/3 of a Stetson 3 way. Another (anonymous) view ... 1/2 of 4 ways to nowhere.

I remember an auction from a while ago where, I think it was rilico, showed such a hat. From the edge, he pushed the brim toward the crown, and it bubbled both up and down. Double must have been a popular concept for a while.

I want a double brim with a double sweat. Oh, and a double brim binding like Tango Yankee's hat in the Fancy Ribbons thread.

I passed up a Cavanagh recently that had the double layer brim. It felt (ha ha) really odd and you couldn't really shape the brim very well.

I have a 3X Resistol San Antonio with that same liner, one of my faves, fits so nice. Let us know (after you get the hat) if there is anything in the hat indicating it is a San Antonio, or whatever. I steam all of mine out to open crown and then into a tear drop, but sometimes it can be a real challenge to get the old crease lines to disappear.

Have it in hand now, the moth damage on the right side is actually all the way through the hat.....so, that's a little disappointing, but we'll see if the prescribed fedora lounge remedies can be of any help.

No tags on the inside of nothing on the sweat to indicate the model, only "Melorol," which I think has something to do with the felt?

quick rebash to a center dent. It's tagged as a 7, but the inside of the sweat says 7 1/8th, and it feels a little big. But for $10, can't complain too much.
