This is, without a doubt, my quirkiest hat acquisition ever. I can't really explain it -- it was late last night, and it seemed like a good idea at the time...

So, here you have it -- a green ADAM DeLuxe Quality "Genuine Vicorona"...

I don't know whether to laugh, cry, or just start with martinis for breakfast. :D For all I know, in the ADAM lexicon, "Vicorona" may just be another term for "Tribble."  :D :D

Then again, in its own way, this one could also turn out to be very cool...;)

OK. That's it. Be gentle...:D

Cheers,

Have to admit I really want that, shame about it being so large. Amazingly odd and rare find. Well done.

Thanks, Billy. As our resident ADAM expert, have you seen the DeLuxe Quality designation before? I can't say that I have. I believe that there may have been a quality level above "Executive", and I wonder whether this might be it. Any thoughts?

Cheers,
JtL

Had seen a mention in an advert of around the '48 timescales, but had never seen one until now.
It maybe a designation specifically for that type of hat as the Regent was for Boaters/Straws.

Look forward to seeing what lies under the sweatband in terms of price labels.

I haven't had a more recent one in hand so I am curious as to their quality. Let us know. Looks nice enough.
This could also be a USA made Flechet(Bollman) see this link with similar logo:http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?t=21632

Saw some in Amsterdam (found a hat shop but didn't purchase anything). They were OK in quality, I'd put them on a par with the Christys, but not as good as the Akubras. Similar to the Tonaks I've seen also.

Thats funny, I have one exactly like that...........:D

HA! Yes, that's the one I sold you. What the photos of me don't convey is just how crooked the hat became on my lumpy noggin. I always had to fiddle with it to get it to be straight as in those pictures, and then it'd go wonky again.

So, how does that one - and the St. Regis - look on you, pal!? I don't remember seeing anything posted. Are they OK with you?

Yes sir, they are great! I love that Mossant. It is so soft and malleable and your ribbon job was perfect. The St. Regis was one I had coveted since you posted it a year ago or so. Beautiful rich color and shape. I removed the side dents on both and can't wait to get an event to wear them out to (one at a time, of course:D ).

I have just been swamped with the lead-up to Labor Day and have not had time to post them up but I hope to this week-end.

I'm guessing that it's more angora than vicuna in the way that beaver "quality" doesn't mean beaver anything.

BTW, the hat reminds me of a slightly thicker version of BT's very elegant Borsalino angora.
