It was me. I had already come to a verbal agreement with the seller, who had listed it in auction for 50 dollars, so he added a 500 dollar buy it now. Someone snatched it from me just as I was paying for it, but luckily the seller is an honorable guy, and honored our verbal.
I gave him an extra 500 to thank him for keeping his word
I agree. I can't see any holes, but if there are, I'll just call them ventsLooks rough but I bet it cleans up nice, Max.
Really great find! Glad the wrinkles came out.Royal De Luxe Stetson St Regis
it arrived a bit wonky at the base of the crown. set out with a nice boiling pot and got to work. I think it shaped up nicely

I’m not sure what cause the misshapen crown. Could have been a slight shrinking of the sweat.. but I don’t think so as the size seemed fine. The ribbon was actually slightly stretched out with the crinkle. Though I think it possible the ribbon had been replaced or reattached at some point as the ribbon stitches go through the liner. You can see some of it at the top of this photo.

In the end... I’m gonna go with. Stacking... as the culprit for the weird shape. Seems as plausible a reason as any. But whatever the reason. It’s mostly gone now.
Really happy with this one

Nice looking hat! Love that brown color.Well, finally own a vintage hat. Not sure whom I was bidding against, I think I paid a bit much for it, but oh well.
an Adam Fenmore in a nice dark brown. Appears to have a new sweat, and there are two small moth nips. Overall, a pretty nice hat. Could use a cleaning and a steaming.

A really good Boss of the PlainsThat’s an incredible hat, Max! I’m calling bibs on the next one in 7 5/8
I can’t wait to see it cleaned up. However, now that the last dragon has been slain what do you do? It reminds me a commercial from a few years back where I guy was surfing the internet and comes to the end and gets a screen that says he’s seen it all.
A really good Boss of the Plains
Stetson San Angelo 4X. It is the model that appears on Raylan Givens' head on "Justified", which is the show that got me started on hat collecting View attachment 287521 View attachment 287522 View attachment 287523 View attachment 287524 View attachment 287526 View attachment 287527 View attachment 287528 View attachment 287529

In the final episode, yes. So, it's wool, then, the San Angelo?Moving on to wool hats, ehh? I watched Justified for a while but for some reason it didn’t hold my interest and I stopped. I hear he went to a fedora toward the end of the show.
