Yes, I’ll take one!
$125 BIN will do it for me. I especially liked the liner and felt colors and overall condition.
The felt is soft and pliable, but one can definitely see the decline in Stetson quality with this year model.
My grandpa liked mid ribbons only and would have liked to see me wearing this one. I remember him having a tan 60s Playboy that he mostly wore to church. He had a more worn in Sears fedora that he wore while making moonshine. I have it hanging on my wall with many of others. I’m glad this eBay purchase came along. I’ll be wearing it to church this coming Sunday in his honor. Don’t ‘Shine anymore, or I’d turn up a Mason jar in his honor, as well. View attachment 231428 View attachment 231430
Thumbs up to Your Grandpa wearing the Playboy to church. His hat hanging on your wall is a treasure! Churches are open your way?

it's in transit, steur, no other pics currently. i'll post in Borsalino thread once i get it.
what model is it?
thanks,
mike
Your guess is as good as mine, Mike. My first post maybe suggested I knew what model it was, but I was talking more in terms of shape and proportions. No way of telling what model just by the look of it. I feel safe to say it isn't a Gorasgu as they were specifically for the American market.

Victory. For a late 50s Adam this one went too high for me, usually, but I just had to get it because the 3 initials stamped on the sweatband are my late Grandpa’s. Kinda cool, right?
It was a hard fought win with 33 bids from $60 after finding it a week ago.
AND, I finally got me an “Executive”
All I need now is a 40/50s Lee Trinity.

Trying to take time I didn’t have to ask the seller a question, and yes, knew better, I missed a BIN pristine pre-Stetson Mallory “Fort Worth” the other night by mere minutes and an auctioned mint 50s Playboy at Shop-goodwill for two agonizing defeats.
I went $266, but someone else wanted it more.
Two people had great victories with those two hats, for sure!

I was hoping someone on the lounge got it.

I didn't go for that one because, though the size was listed as 7 1/4, there was no evidence and no measurements given. I hope it fits. Especially with that 2 6/8" brim!

And if I read you right, a Playboy went for $266?

Yeah, sorry for the misinformation.
I meant to type, Whippet. It was a serious beaut! If I won, which I didn’t much think I would, I had planned on selling two decent hats out of my collection to pay for it. Would’ve been a decent trade off.
HAS makes you think crazy thoughts.
I’m still regretting the Fort Worth. How many of those are floating around in mint condition?
I’ll let you all know how the Executive fits when it arrives.
Judging from the pictures it looked to me like a 7 and 2/8s. I trust this seller... :)

Very cool! Your grandpa’s initials definitely make it worth for you!

Thanks, Joe! Yeah, my Grandpa’s name on my Mother’s side was William Henry Watterson, and with my middle name I was named after him, so it’s prettty cool to get this fedora. I have some pics of him as a young married man wearing a nice looking early 40s Stetson fedora.
He and his wife, my grandma, became my best friends late in their long, blessed lives.
