Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

So the hat teaser in the post just above was actually a win from late last night. Counting just the hats that I acquired for myself I come out to 33 (including the one above) in Year 1 of being a Lounge member. Could be as high as 35 if I decide to keep a couple from my estate auction extravaganza haul from earlier this summer. Not @drmaxtejeda acquisition level, but...woof.

Better slow down in Year 2, but still celebrating today's anniversary. Just snagged this one a short while ago:

Compared to the other one from above this hat is about as far on the other end of the spectrum as possible. Should be a very interesting week next week when these arrive.
Curious to see both, but especially the Barbisio rat gondin!

The trip down memory lane continues. Last Friday was the 5-yr wedding anniversary with the wife, and on this day one year ago I joined the Lounge. Had to celebrate by getting a rat hat (and leather jacket):

I'll have to count how many hats have been acquired over the past year. On second thought, maybe that's not such a good idea. Here was the first:

Thanks to all that for making this a nice little corner on the Internet. I've thoroughly enjoyed being a member, have learned a lot, and hopefully have made some positive contributions to this wonderful forum.

Seven, counting the acquisition from last night. That one is unlined and has hardware on both sides, though, so I can wear it either way. I got it mainly for the suede side, but we'll see, so maybe eight? I'm hoping the Carlsbad hat will pair with this new jacket.

That blue 70s piece and sadly the black Cal CR are realistically too small and should be moved on.

Great pick up. That one looks like quite a project.

I’m not sure about the sweat being salvageable, but a few months ago someone was posting about clipping off the parts with the crests and transplanting them to a new sweat. Maybe the idea will work?
I have glued them to the inside of new sweats.

I have sinned, me brothers! [emoji33]

It was for science, though. I really want to know if they have good felt. I wasn't going to pay $1200, but 375 was alright. At least this one isn't burned or patched, and taking off the match will be easy. I hope it won't turn me into a pyromaniac.

Got my first Mallory in the mail yesterday. I’m still looking for a pre-Stetson, but couldn’t pass this one up for a $50 best offer. Super condition with the exception of a few tiny moth bites. I’m not sure if this thing has ever been worn or even bashed.

Just have a simple dry bash for now till I have time to break out the steamer. Love the color and the style, and the ‘Pliafelt’ is very light. Reminds me of the Stratoliner felt.

If it's for science it isn't a sin, Max. I'm curious how it holds up to other hats in your collection. I suspect it's all to do with fashion and branding but I've never handled one, so to be fair I won't judge until the verdict is in.
Oh no!
What is the Lounge coming to?
