I guess I'll bid on it if you are out. Wouldn't want to step on any toes.Well, I don't have that color.
I think I'll offer him $50. I'll bet he bites.

I offered $250, just to put his feet on the ground, whoever he is. [emoji5]Demon Hanover in 7 1/4 just spotted up on the Bay!
At a price not even a dentist could love.
Very nice!Another Foxhound. I was attracted to the ribbon and bound brim colors

Sorry, about this next one, Stefan. I decided to expand my size range just a little more. The brim width is 2 7/8, so Ignacio has plenty of brim to work with. No stretching needed. [emoji3]A size 7 eh? Quick, send it to me before Max and Ignacio get it!...... O, never mind.
Beautiful Knox, Max. That brim binding is a great feature.
The size tag with "ovalized sixteenths" and the "Custom Edge" marking on the sweat are the same as Knox hats. So did Knox make make the Dunlap hats then ?Sorry, about this next one, Stefan. I didn't have a single Dunlap, and it has such a beautiful shape and colors.

Very nice old Derby (its American, so...Derby), with a great historical tie to your locale. You are already on track with your research. Sometimes the style of store logo can be a clue to dating. Have you checked under the sweat band (carefully) for manufacturer tags? There is a dedicated threat around here somewhere about Stetson tag dating. Looks like an early one for sure. Welcome to the Fray!Scored this Stetson Select bowler a couple weeks ago. Pics are from the listing as I am still researching this piece:

Wasn't particularly looking for a bowler at the time, but then I saw the retailer. I live in the greater South Bend area, and many times I have walked by that address. (The original building has unfortunately long since been demolished, and is now retail shops on the street level and a parking garage above. That particular address is now a diner. Haven't tried the food, but will now make it a point to go.)
Pretty sure this is from late 20s based on what I've read on several threads on FL. This also matches Spiro ads I found from the same time period advertising Stetson hats. (Earlier ads mention being a Knox retailer.) One of those serendipitous moments when I found out I won. To think this hat has come around full circle after ~90 years is fascinating to me.
Suffice to say, this hat makes me smile. As a bonus, the wife likes it.
Thank you, Alan.Dunlap was acquired by Knox around 1918-1919.

I have been watching both the Dunlap and the blue John the Hatter fedora, but didn't bid on either of them because of their size. One too small and one too large. Sometimes this works just fine, but not being able to try them and not having an Ignacio at my disposal, I just grit my teeth and wait for the next one that is my size. I do think sizing a hat 3 to 4 sizes up is a bit of a stretch though. Nice catches nonetheless, Max.Thank you, Alan.
I bought this next hat because its shape and the colors of the liner remind me of my Tropp the Hatter fedora.
My Tropp is from Philadelphia, and this John the Hatter is from New Jersey, but I vaguely remember that Steven, @mayserwegener, did some research on Tropp hats and New Jersey was mentioned somewhere.
The last two pics are of the Tropp.

Well, we've already done three. I don't know why it wouldn't work with four. I will show the latest in the New Hats thread today.I have been watching both the Dunlap and the blue John the Hatter fedora, but didn't bid on either of them because of their size.
