Well Joao, eBay seem to be dumbing down pain by no longer showing ended auctions.... How can we savour our suffering if images of what might have been have simply evaporated? This is creeping sensorship, the end of post bidding porn.... I can't cope

Yes Michael, it's a homburg but with real style and it will snap and bash, but I'm more and more tempted to re block it to perfection, stiffen it a bit and leave it as it is, no bashes at all. I am large - that is me posing in my Avatar (20 years ago). And that was my Borsalino Dishclothissimo, just 2 days before Hurricane Andrew wiped us off the face of the Bahamas... That wiped my smile out. I think I could just about carry a homburg these days.

Only if it is on your end. I can still see the pictures.

My Borsalino Hommie arrived today, nicely packed and then stuffed hard into my rather small postbox.... Not to worry, it's a terrific "brand new" (old stock) ex-Munich hat shop, Borsalino homburg dated 6 juni 1956. It's new stiff felt and very blockable. A bit of steam and TLC and it would do what I want. I tried a reblocked no bash and, well, looked like a clown. I gave it the standard homburg centre bash, and felt a bit formal. So following Pork pie hatter's advice - try it you won't do any damage - I gave it the Madman fedora treatment. I've yet to pop up the crown and work a little on the brim but.....

Looks good. Nice ostrich boots.
Thank you! The hat's nearly right isn't it? Well I think so, it feels great on anyway.
The boots, yes my prized Tony Lama's I have those, and a very dark brown almost blood red pair - these are in perfect condition, USA 10 1/2 UK 9.5 - 10. I say this as for me unfortunately MS has made Western boots out of the question. I'll put them on eBay unless one of the Brethren would like them? They are house trained and broken in, I can let them go "to an excellent home" for say $125?

I did not know that you could do that style with a Homburg.... but I really like how it looks. I have been ignoring vintage homburs when they come up for sale but now that I see this....
