Right? That's a good guess as any, Tommy. I thought about rescuing the hat, but when I realized that the rawhide binding went through the brim a dozen times, leaving 1/8" holes all around the edge, I just gave up.

Hey, come on--every eBay hat is super rare, early vintage, and never worn.

I do know that it was a modern hat but those are the ones I can afford if they don't go sky high. Vintage go too high for me and I don't want to compromise my road trip through the US.
Rare or not, it's the first one I saw in brown.
