Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Some of you may remember last week I purchased a joblot from france, what caught my eye was a borsalino with a 7 tag which the seller listed as eu 57 (not a very exciting size) whenever ive seen red borsalino tags they have been punti meaning eu 61 (a very exciting size) well they arrived an hour ago and its a PUNTI 7, dear diary jackpot!, the seller managed to not only get that size wrong but a couple of others like this black french hat also in 61 and there is a Swiss Homburg in a 60 as well as some very interesting hats in smaller sizes. Some days your the dog some days your the lamppost, today is a dog day!

Congrats! These two look fantastic. Looking forward to more details.

This was a new one on me. I got a "second chance" notice from a seller on this Stratoliner I lost a week or two ago. He offered it to me at my highest bid. I guess the bidder or bidders that beat me out had "buyers remorse". It does have a badly stained ribbon around the crown but after a lot of cleaning it is otherwise a very nice hat.





I may live with it or at some point swap out for a new ribbon.

Yes, they did. One buyer got himself a couple of great buys considering they should have gone higher than that without the cases.

Kind of odd that both came in a Churchill box, though. Those Churchill boxes are rarer than the Stetson 100s! I've only seen half a dozen of them over the years.

I would love to have had that 7X dress hat, but sadly I just don't have the cash these days for the more high dollar sales.

I will have to post more detail one of the two Stetsons. the one Dobb's with the feather is Very nice. the last one is the Royal Stetson I just got the other black one is at the shop getting cleaned and blocked right now. The Royal i gave a bit of Steaming last night with the Travel steamer I have . At lease this liner is attached unlike the Other that was partly detached from the hat. It must be newer make as it was glued not stitched in.

More picture as soon as I can sort them. May be holding back on some hat buying.. It's getting quite addicting.

Lot of price starting low and selling high .. was lucky to get the Royal Stetson for the buy now they list (well under what wanted as i used a credit) hats are selling fast .
