Great example of a seller who is experienced (thousands of feedbacks) and obviously does this for an income stream and yet 1) doesn't know how to use a camera and 2) can't figure out that the hat just might be more important to the buyer than the box......

Seems like for every consummate professional seller there is at least twice as many (probably a lot more) who are out of their element yet manage to be successful on ebay. Pretty amazing!

Picked up this Lee Adventurer on the bay. It stinks like old cigarettes and hair product, and you can see that it has some sweat stains in it, but the lines on it are really sharp, the felt feels really nice, and the sweat is in beautiful condition.

Think I'll send it down to Hatman Jacks in Wichita, since that's only three hours away, for a cleaning. Wish me luck!

Congratulations, Lotsahats :eusa_clap. I was wondering who won that one. I've always wanted a Lee Adventurer, but I couldn't abide by that color. Tans do not work on me nosirree! At least in the hands of a Lounger I'll get to see it every once in a while lol.

Anyone else look at this "Royual Stetson Strafoliner"? I snagged it last night on the 'Bay, right at the max price I'd set. I suspect the misspelled title saved me a bundle. And I was very lucky, as the second highest bidder had exactly the same max bid as I did, but my bid fortunately went in one second earlier. Looking forward to the hat's arrival and adding another Strat to the collection/rotation (especially since I've been on the road for work for the last 5 months, and didn't bring a Strat to S. Florida with me).

I was watching that one also. A great buy! I just got this almost mint one in the mail. I like the rolled up brims of the gambler style hats. I am going to replace the ribbon with a nice wide one.

I talked to the seller, and they have since posted new pics. Not much of an improvement, though, and the utter lack of punctuation...does not help. lol

I also mentioned this incredible price to the seller. They were at first offended and indignant, but then sent a follow-up response once they saw the error. They have since adjusted to a normal price range.

The Mallory was on my watch list as I wanted to see what a total refurb hat would go for.
As the hat had a cheap sweat and did not have the orginal liner. Love the color.

I threw an early bid at that one, but couldn't believe what it ended up selling for.

Its a clean and block with a sweatband replacement(a bad one too). No liner(when new) with printed tip(1823) and the ribbon is likely original(or a very professional period replacement in the correct color). Single line of zig-zag stitching around brim near edge. Similar color to Lefty's Borsalino--but not similar felt quality.
