I just received this, and I am SO EXCITED to have the original!!! I wanted to scan in copies for everyone on the lounge. The scans honestly don't do this circular any justice. The actual paper measures 18.5 x 12 and the print is absolutely masterful. What is amazing about this circular is that it was released to suppliers only 8 years after John B. Stetson started his hat business. This circular could have been given to suppliers by Stetson himself.

Just had to bump this thread. I surfed into a early century photo that someone had colorized. Maybe Shorpy, or just a random Google search, dunno where I got it. This hat looks to have lines that are classic, harking back to the turn of the century hats in these fabulous Stetson ads. The image deserves study.

I wouldn't wear this one on a daily basis, but I may see another historic hat in the works. Now I have to connect this look to a image that connects it to Oregon Agricultural College around the 1910s. I need this like a hole in the head, but my inner geek is rumbling...

Fantastic! Apart from the hat style it's amazing how contemporary he looks.

Looking very closely at the shirt and tie as well as the very heavily creased lightweight trousers...this appears to be a contemporary photo made to look old......cuffs and buttons on coat do not ring true either....tie for sure is constructed wrong for the apparent time-frame....

I love this thread......to bad there are SOOOOOOO many lost links....:(
