Definitely need a little help with this one does not of course to be a vintage Dunlap but it does say Dunlap supreme I’m going to inspect it today it is my size it is a western style and the company appears to be Circle C brand hats.

Dunlap was an early part of HatCo that eventually bought out Byer-Rolnick/Resistol. I bet this is a Resistol produced hat with Dunlap branding for (probably a house brand) Circle C.

I don't recall seeing one and can't really speak to pricing, but $50 ain't bad for a hat you like and will wear. Plus it has a red liner!

Ok nice guy... so here are the specs I got this hat it was 40.00 and it fits. Definitely a hat I’d be proud to wear but sure about a few things except it may very well be a hat made or bought out by hatco... but the union tag concerns me if it is a hatco company then.

Sweat is stamped “double quality”? And another stamp in the headband also in gold as well ”S.S. Quality”.

Pictures may explain some things to help know if it’s an old hat a vintage hat or just maybe 1980’s

I can’t make out the printing of the name of the store though only the word store and the price stamped in the band

It says "Factory Store." My guess is 70s/80s, maybe newer based on the union tag. Why would the union tag concern you?

Going to take it to azTex hats and replace the hat and with a 1/2” ( grosgrain) if they have going to cowboy curl part of the brim up front similar to tge distressed hat image but more curled in. Taking out the cattleman crease and 40.00 I don’t mind tge change

It unbound him is a little wider so I can’t well enough make it a fake OP

Sorry if I miss representing anything.. no, the union tag doesn’t bother me... I was only interested in it to maybe acquire a bit more info about its “heritage” I guess and I think the tag may have given it in a certain Referance of time, however I also though that it would not be a hatco hat because of the year of market for this... I though hatco bought out all sorts of hat companies in late 80’s. I never saw a western Dunlap and figured all info would be beneficial to help date the hat

Odd question what exactly is the “factory store”? Maybe it was bought as a second or something at a store on property where it was made? Maybe?

If it fits and YOU like, and it works for you. And is in as good of shape as the pictures look. That's all that matters.
I'd love to find a nice cowboy hat like that, but my head is so small finding any hat that fit's me next to impossible.

Dunlap Spaceweight Saturn 2 in space gray. Size 56 with the bound brim at 5,2cm and the crown 10,5 at the center dent. Very nice little sixties hat. The liner is what makes it for me. And it has a cool pin. Don't know about the feather, but it seems to be original to the hat.

Dunlap Supreme Space/Weight

This Dunlap Supreme Space/weight As it’s name suggests has a rather light weight thin felt. This one has a stingy overwelt brim at 1 1/2 inch and a 4 1/2 crown as bashed. It does not have the neato Dunlap/Champ Space/Weight liner or pin... nor do I think it ever did. The liner is glued in.. and there is no manufacturing tags I can find underneath the sweat or liner other than a hand written 8 on the felt. It has no size tag... but measures out and fits right at a 7 1/8. It has a single sided bow which I think I had only found on one other of my hats. I’m sure it was a cost cutting measure but it Makes a sleek one piece look.

I received this hat a couple months back.. but did not post it here at the time as it arrived with a tear in the back of the crown and wanted to attempt a repair on it. I think it came out fairly well
