I think you'll want to see the UK 2011 Christmas Special before you see Series 3. Quite a few of the story lines progress. Perhaps it's being wrapped into what you're seeing as Season 2.

Does anyone know if the Christmas Special is included in the Season 2 DVD set. I had reserved a copy of Season 2 that is supposed to ship when it releases in Feb. but did not see any mention of the Special. The desciption simply says Entire Second Season.

Thanks, I hoped it was included. There are very few programs I get "hooked" on but this one has done it to me. I caught the last episode of Season 1 by accident, it peaked my interest and then I had to see the rest.

I see in the product description for the to-be-released DVD set, that one of the special features is 'fashion and uniforms'! I usually resist the 'also interested in' items but the hard copy book about the "world of Downton Abbey' sounded too good to pass up.

I never thought I would like it either, but once I watched the first episode I was hooked.

Didn't care as much for the first episode this season. Halfway through the second, I shut it off. The writing seems forced this year.
