I don't dislike it all that much. It's misinformed, sure, but I like the enthusiasm for leather jackets, I can't help that. I bought cheap imitations before I got into quality clothing so I can't judge too much. Plus, I am still learning myself.

That said, I don't agree with much of what he says. As others have pointed out, vintage Brimaco, Brooks, used Schott, etc are all much better than anything he is suggesting.

I think the point of these style advisors, is for something that is affordable for almost everyone and readily available at the store NOW, everyone of their 5millions viewers if they are all sold to his pitch can jump to their car, bike, bicycle to their nearby mall buy one right now. nowadays modern young people want all thing instantly available and disposable (or ahem recycleable)

I don’t mind the enthusiasm, I don’t mind “affordable” I don’t even mind if people legitimately love mall and fashion jackets more than what we love around here. Like I said I just can’t stand artificial masculinity and getting women, or saying a certain look is guaranteed to do this or that. Be secure in who you are, be secure in what you like. Being you is more important than anything else. If being “you” is an All Saints jacket and those grey Thursday Chelsea Boots then rock it. I don’t judge that. I don’t judge expense either. Sure I think some things are over priced or there are better options per cost. Such as that Schott jacket I posted the other day. I think it’s beautiful design and great leather but at that price, I think there’s better options. Yet if someone Love capital L, loves it, or has the money to spend power to them. I just get so annoyed at the costume loving, “manly” masculinity. Let’s leave all of that talk out of it please.

Are you guys sure his advice is meant for heterosexual males? Just watched few minutes of the video in OP and for me this guy is giving huge gay vibes. Mind you, there's nothing wrong with that, but maybe many of us here are not in his target audience? I'm not an expert, but I have the feeling that as far as leather jackets are concerned most gay men tend to fall in two categories: fashion stuff or langlitz/BLUF.

Langlitz is quite popular in the gay leather scene, as are Wesco Boss engineer boots. I am not involved in the gay leather scene (At least I don’t think I am...) but I am also a big fan of Langlitz and Wesco. I too was amused by some of the pictures I’ve come across when I googled Langlitz leathers but I think it’s just another sign of their quality that they are popular with such a wide and diverse customer base. That sector of the market probably helped to keep their doors open in the years before they were discovered by the Japanese and folks like us here at TFL.

Langlitz, Vanson and even Schott have always been popular among the leather bears but they were born from bikers (probably crossed paths often, scene wise). To avoid any confusion it’s best not to wear one with a ball gag.

Actually yeah. The jackets are very nice though some of the patters are... Weird.

I still feel like I look outta place in black leather anyway, and all of their designs seem like they'd be a little wacky in brown so I might just hold off for now
