Does Your Jacket Stand Up?

From my experience, thick leather and many seams don't go well together, super stiff and resistant to break-in. I'd rather get a design like this in Johnsons goat or bison leather or you could ask them for a sample of their redwood bison. The shade of brown differs from batch to batch, but all three samples I have seen looked fantastic and would go well with a jacket design like this.
Their goatskin is pretty good, very thick and drapes like deerskin.

The heavy horse DEL-66 is a jacket I've invested a lot of time into it, I understand the stiffness of the thick horsehide. I thought about melton wool front panels. One way or another it will get that vintage look some time down the road.

They look like undead crawling out of their graves.

I didn't expect the Kelpie nor the tumbled CXLHH to stand up.
I thought the Lost World would but did not.
The 613SH fought valiantly for half a minute before collapsing and could not get it up again, she needs a blue pill.
Now if they do a march as an army of jackets, then I'll be impressed. ;-)

I’ve been fortunate enough to secure a custom leather jacket from Field Leathers. This is the Ohio model in shinki horsehide with an aniline finish. Super happy with it.

So cool I think it could beat me up!
Pics aren't showing up for me, but if you click on them it shows. Beautiful stand up jacket though.

I had a pair of 21oz selvedge jeans that stood up on their own bent at the knee; well, so I guess they kneeled down, LOL.

This is a fun thread, just discovered! Weekend activity planned before the 6 nations rugby starts... see if I can get both jacket and jeans to stand. Love the army of the undead jackets - very creative!

Thanks for bumping up this thread so I could see this pic. This is just epic. If some famous conceptual artist did this, it would be famous. Lots of movement and various connotations to it. Just fabulous.

Yeah I’m new here so maybe I didn’t upload them correctly? I just added the images from my phone. Not sure why they don’t show but indeed if you click they show!

Fun thread and party trick.

When I’m at a coffee shop, I stand my jacket up next to me, or on its own chair. Not so fun if I’m out walking, and have to carry the jacket - feels like carrying a log.

The question now is, “Can your jacket do a one hand push up?”
