Thank you for your post.In the old days, it was standard to photograph a new Aero this way.
Great pic.......fellow Schott enthusiast....Found a pic of my 641 steerhide
Think it might be getting a little help from the pillows ….Maybe not…
That is Bad A$$.......
My thickest horsehide jacket is this Johnson half belt. Just pulled it out and put it into rotation thanks to this thread.

Very true! You can see that the Chopper I posted above was already slouching its way into a fall when I took the photo. Some of them have real staying power, though, when that LW was new, it could stand on its own for hours at a time.So much depends on how much time do you spend to shape and place it just right so that it stands.
But, as you can see from my profile picture... Yes, yes it does.
The base pattern is their DEL-66 half belt. I just added the Peters fan back and four pockets front. The leather is Horween horsehide I found, very thick, sold to me as 4 to 5oz thickness, and I ended up overdying it seal brown. I commissioned this jacket when I was really into the four pocket front design but now I am thinking of updating the front panels to something more vintage looking maybe like the 40s corded multi panels front. This is one gorgeous jacket. Can you post the details?
From my experience, thick leather and many seams don't go well together, super stiff and resistant to break-in. I'd rather get a design like this in Johnsons goat or bison leather or you could ask them for a sample of their redwood bison. The shade of brown differs from batch to batch, but all three samples I have seen looked fantastic and would go well with a jacket design like this. The base pattern is their DEL-66 half belt. I still have some extra leathers left and thought of updating the front to this,

I think it would match the fan back better than the four pockets front.
