Does anyone make a short jacket (B2 length or touch longer for example) leather outside sheepskin lined inside like an aero Shawl Collar Barnstormer?

Does anyone make a short jacket (B2 length or touch longer for example) full leather outside sheepskin lined inside like an aero Shawl Collar Barnstormer?

I’m not very tall so shorter jackets look better on me. I know there’s the b3 b6 etc but there aren’t leather outer

What makes you think it's not leather on the outside? Of course it is.

Aero would be a good port of call here because they can do a shearling lining option for many of the half belts and Highwayman.

I think he means a rugged leather on the outside like steer, horse, goat.

Yes, I think he wants sheepskin as lining.

Presumably that's exactly what it is. The reason for this request seems to be the assumption that the outside is not "real" leather. His definition of "real" will probably be HH or Steer and then of course the only option is to line the jacket.

Edit:
Incidentally, from my own experience I cannot recommend the combination of CXFQHH and shearling lining. Too thick, too stiff, simply not practical. And if it is practical, then it has to be significantly larger and then looks disproportionate again. A real shearling is so much more comfortable.
If it were, then the shearling would have to be shortened to a maximum of 3-5 mm.

Spot on. With a shearling lining you have two layers of leather on you, plus fur. Shearling lining must be short in order not to look like Michelin Man. Which is not stopping me from thinking about replacing a nylon "fur lining" in one of my budget N-1 deck jackets with repurposed shearling from an old shearling coat that holds sentimental value to me. I would not wear that shearling coat, but an N-1 with a lining made from it, sure.

Thank you. I was thinking they are the only realistic port of call…

This is exactly correct. I find the leather on the oustide of shearlings like the b3 to be less hard wearing than what is traditionally considered (to me at least) a leather jacket I.e. HH, bull hide etc. this is exactly why they do have HH patches over areas subject to more wear on the B3 and ANJ4.

To be honest, my dream would be a thin shearling lined B2

Indeed, yes. I mean, I suppose it works with Aero’s shawl barnstormer…

Something like this but in the shape of a b2 or Anj4 would be perfect

What are you planning to do with the jacket that you think a normal shearling won't hold up? The reinforcements on a B-3 are there to protect the stressed areas in everyday flying in warplanes. But in this day and age? The only thing that comes to mind is riding a motorbike.

Nothibg Like that. I just don’t like how they end up looking when the front enevitably gets scratched.

Plus, I just prefer a more rugged outer.

Aero or Simmons Bolt would be your options. I really don't think any leathers other than sheep or goat would work, though. Maybe not even goat. HH or Steer would be too stiff.

I haven't and didn't know about this one. ITs damn pretty. Almost a B2. Got to find out more about this one. Thanks a lot!
The sleeves are not sheepskin lined and mine is not much longer in the body than my A2

Just read through this thread:

https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/thoughts-on-the-thunder-bay-from-aero.109496/

very informative and useful.

I think, since I'm 177cm in height, the Thunderbay may look better on me than what I was originally considering (the shawl collar barnstormer).

They both probably have the same specs in terms of leather and short sherling and cord lining in the sleeves. Probably both suffer from the same cons as listed in the thread created by Guppy (cold bridge, short shearling in the collar, sleeves a bit cool).

I think for Swiss winters, this should be sufficient without needing too much layering.
