Vintage 2004 .... but a new design on me (but then I'm not familiar with all of the designes produced for LVC) . Produced for Levis which I know Aero did and has some of the hallmarks of the recent offerings .... just don't know if they did them back in 2004.

Any info would be appreciated ...

I think Aero did them then and prior to that, there was a jacket on ebay recently labelled as an Aero which I thought was something like a Redskins absolute piece of c--- which Holly told me that it was by Aero to a customer spec' (something they would not contemplate now!), I actually quite like this LVC offering, I'm sure if you ask Holly she will tell you if it is Aero made or not.

I am not saying either way but the 2003 LVC Blue Black jacket has the same "Levi Strauss Styled and Tailored in California" label and it was made by Aero.

It's a repro- regardless of where they're actually made, they have the original style labels. Trust the modern "real" labels.

I saw one of the blue black Levi jackets one Wednesday, it hadn't been weathered or anything, which was unusual. Came back into their possession very recently.

To be honest I'm not sure if this is Aero made or not, by 2004 I had left Aero for a life in Glasgow. I'll investigate tho and come back to you all.

If this is an original I'd say it's one of the most striking Aero jackets I have ever seen. Kind of a much nicer Teamster. If this was part of the new Aero range it would certainly be my favorite.

about as slim as EVERY other Aero produced with the "Levi Strauss Leather Coat" label

Thanks Holly .... have also sent an email to Alexanders to see if any of those guys remember ... a LOT of similarities with the Aero new stuff and the 1920's and 1930's originals ... the collar, top pocket and the broad leather side adjusters ( buttons aside ... I HATE buttons .. but at least they look like they would work on this hide !) are really cool .... also I'm not a big fan of black and brown two tone but this type of combination looks REALLY cool IMHO. The back's a little complex ( I'm a fan of simple) but fits this example well.

Now if only it was a 42" or a 44"

Looks like one of the original Speedways Aero did for LVC.

Thanks Rudie .... were they lined this acetate type lining as opposed to the traditional tartan type linings ????

On the Aero website they say that the original version had a delicate rayon lining. This and the label were the only thing they changed. Which is a pity, IMO. In September they had a test Speedway jacket for sale. It was made from mid weight horse, had two chest pockets and light shoulder pads to give it an even more athletic look. If I remember correctly it also had a vintage grommeted Talon zipper, like on their new 1920s Hercules. I thought this one looked way superior to the version they offer now.

Sorry for my late reply with this, still trailing behind with post-Trade Week catch up, and this slipped my mind.

I can confirm this is an Aero, but there are a couple of issues we've got to work out before we can offer this model again.

We need to go through our patterns, as we aren't sure we did a full size run of patterns when we produced this style, so we need to find the time to fill in the gaps. Another issue with this style is that when we made them back in 2004 they were very difficult to make and only our finest machinist (Julie) was skilled enough to make these, which meant she was landed with single handedly producing the full LVC order! She's run off her feet right now, helping training our newest batch of trainees (we've had to take even more staff on with 3 new machinists just started), and already works longer hours than anyone else.

So, its very much in our minds, but it'll need to be looked at a little further down the line.
