Does anybody know what this tune is? (From The Godfather)

There is a piano tune being played by Francis Ford Coppola's father, Carmine Coppola, during the newspapers and crime photographs scene. It is the scene that also depicting the Corleone mobsters preparing for a war with a rival family, eating dinner, and Carmine on the piano towards the end. What I would like to know, is if this is based on a real piece or song done before The Godfather had been made. Here is a video:

Thank you, Miss Moonlight! I had thought that this was a piece from before The Godfather.

Is there any other music you could recommend to me that sounds similar? I'm not quite sure what this style of piano music is called, ragtag, or just jazz? It reminds me a bit of the theme to Borsalino, composed by Claude Bolling.
