Do you wear curlers in front of your Significant Other?

My hubby has seen me in pincurls, no makeup, and right now I am wearing his boxers, socks, and his old Pac Man shirt from god knows when.

I don't care if anyone here judges me. I think it's funny.

You know. You are absolutely correct and I apologize profusely. I think this thread and my reactions had more to do with watching Cybil Shepherd, Linda Evans and the other lady on Oprah the other day.
I am not flip flopping on most of what I said but my main point got off track.
It was mainly to state it is best to keep some mystery and a family is worth fighting for or a relationship. However one chooses to do this.

The thing of it is, by being human in front of him (in this case by wearing curlers) you're showing that you trust him with your "secret" to being beautiful. It's supposed to be a good sign, but some guys misinterpret it as a sign that you don't care enough to leave them with their illusions. So I guess what I'm saying is this: if you'd put on makeup in front of him or brush your teeth in front of him, wearing curlers isn't much different.

I definitely have put in curlers in the presence of my boyfriend, he thinks they're kind of funny but it doesn't seem to bother him one bit. I like to think that with my taste in men I would never be with a man so silly to make wearing rollers a problem for our relationship!
That said I don't really like to have them in when he's with me because I would usually put them in at night, but we're long distance and they make cuddling ten times more uncomfortable. I want to get all the cuddles I can when I'm with him!

I don't choose to wear curlers in front of my husband, or pluck my eyebrows (or any other bits of me!), or shave my legs, or put on my shapewear, or do various other things that contribute to how I present myself to the public. I don't think any of those things are sexy or attractive or even neutral. I think they're personal maintenance that is not a spectator sport.

I'm happy for my husband to see me in my PJs with no makeup on and my hair on end, just as I see him. I just don't want him seeing me fix the bits of myself that I don't like.

my boyfriend had seen me in curlers before, just during the day, but recently i started doing my sets at night and this was the first time he spent the night while i had my pincurls in. he actually thought it was fascinating, and watched me set them, then exclaimed that he'd probably mess up at the second curl

i tied a scarf on my head to go to sleep and at first he thought it looked a bit weird, but later he confessed he actually liked how it looks. apparently it makes me cute

This is something I wonder about, too. My hair is so straight that I can't do a set with a curling iron or hot rollers. The only way I get curls is with a wet set. AND, my hair is so thick that it needs at least 12 hours to dry. There is no way to do a vintage hairstyle and not have my husband see me in rollers.

WORD. I guess they lock themselves in the spare room for 8-12 hours? lol I set my hair at my 7pm shower, hubby and I hang out for a few hours, then we go to bed (in the same room and bed).

That's why boudoir caps were invented. Take a big circle of satin, gather the edge, sew elastic into the outer perimeter, edge it in lace, and you can cover your rollers or hairpins in style. Plus they won't be as inclined to come loose in the night.

He works away from home during the week! I can mudpack and pluck and curl to my heart's content during the week and he can come home to a vision of loveliness on a Friday night. When he isn't working away, he just has to lump it.

I have one of those, a Soap & Glory one that looks just like that, except its marketed as a shower cap. That you can't get wet?! and it has a waterproof lining so not much cop for pincurls. :/

Today is Sunday. My day for cleaning, laundry, lazy clothes and setting my hair. Which means, not only does my fella get to see me in my rollers, but so does every man woman and child that I run into when I go out in public whether it be for milk or whatever. Honestly, I am not ashamed or embarrassed. Most people find it oddly charming to see me in rollers. Not exactly sure why other than nostalgia. So if my beau wants to see me with great hair for the rest of the week, he has to suffer through one day of hair setting. Hah!

I have one to keep my hair nice on the nights I don't set it and he thinks it's more ridiculous looking than the curlers. If I wear it over my wet set, my hair isn't dry by morning.

I think pin curls really don't look horrible. It's when you have hot sticks in your hair that you look absolutely insane. Haha. Either way, I have dogs to walk!
