With such a colourful mix of wonderful ladies and gents on the Lounge...

It's a pure breeding ground for crushes. I dare say that bubbling beneath the Lounge surface are any number of 'crushes' going on between varous members who either 'click' with someone else here, have found a common foundation with someone or feel an attraction at some level to them.
C'est la vie mes amis!
As where else would you get such a wonderful, ecclectic mix of well groomed, mannered, good looking and well dressed folk from all corners of this globe of ours!;)

Paddy, you're not wrong.... and at least it's much safer than "real life" where somebody's friend might use some internet jiggery-pokery that leads them to discover who your crush is... A friend who is more than likely to spill the beans re something you'd already decided to do nothing about for one reason and another.

Just as a for instance. I mean, nobody here would be daft enough to be taken in by something like that.

Sounds like your (I mean, this hypothetical person's) friend is interested in things working out.

A former coworker....

that I still keep in touch with. We go to lunch with another former coworker every now and then just to stay in touch. A fine, beautiful woman with elegance and class.
But, I could go on...

I'm 35 and kind of thought I'd be over crushes by now.
However, Jimmy Stewart still makes my pulse race and I have a ridiculous crush on a guy I know.
Nothing will ever come of it, but it's nice to daydream;)

Tellin My Love To The Birdies, But They Never Do Put You Wise...

Yes. Rondo has a crush on a dame about his age, taller than him, better dancer too. Spied her dancing (with what turns out is her ex b.f.), wound up sitting next to her at Sweet Hollywaiians show and was my little heart racing! Tuesday, tomorrow, there is a joint nearby with lunchtime trad jazz, and Rondo is holding his breath until then. I hope A Little Bird Tells Her good things about me.

Not to harsh your buzz here, but in my experience, the she's-taller-than-you thing works best if you're shorter than the average fella. I'm 5'10 1/2" and tall women find me neither Cocky Bantam nor Big Lug.

I just looked at Saturday's paper, today and this is what my horoscope said:

Don't shut yourself off to others. There is someone who has feelings for you but hasn't been able to let you know because you appear reluctant to get to know others. Open up.

Does someone have a crush on me? Unpossible, I say!

As for having a crush on others though... does anyone else feel its easier to have a crush on someone you don't know, or will never know, than it is to have one on someone you are familiar with?

Ooh, depends. I've gotten trapped in that before--developing a crush because the idea was fun, it was easy, improbable. And it backfired--every time, I think. So, easier, no, since the consequences were heavier than expected. About the same, maybe?

But having crushes on celebrities, those are delightfully implausible.

So, has Marc taken you up on your kind offer?;)

No, do you think he'd want to go to Lowe's and Home Depot on a man hunt with me? Those are the best places to meet guys. There and auto parts places. You can go to AutoZone on Saturdays and they'll be lined up fixing their cars out front and you just walk along and when you see a cute one you say hi and then you say you need such-and-such done and you are buying the part & they'll fix it for you. Men are sweet that way. :eusa_clap

Seems to me this hypothetical person's friend has a big nose, but hopefully not a bigger mouth!

I, myself, have a little crush on Mr. Edward, because a) he does Rocky b) he enjoys little Britain, and c) I have yet to actually see what he looks like outside of makeup, which makes him mysterious--sort of like V in V for Vendetta. :p

Not so far--then again, I'm cheating, with a pillow on the desk and my head planted on it. The bulging eyes are still an issue, though...lol

he-he ,that jaw, the bulging eyes, also your heart seems to be giving you trouble lately ... with what are you going to surprise us next??? :rage: lol lol

Sorry, I haven't written any of you into my will. (What would any of you want with a bunch of old military, aircraft, and rail books anyway? That's pretty much the extent of my current "estate"...):D lol

We are talking about someone who's never even had a "first date", remember?*raised eyebrow*:eek:lol
