Do I Dare Go Thin.....?

I'm thinking of going "Thin" on this Bianchi. The only 2 colors I have that I think would work are this Brown and a Gun Metal type of Gray/grey. I just have them laying on the hat to show you guys what they look like so I can get some feedback and some valuable opinions. The Gray one is a tad bit wider than the brown. If I had Black, I'd probably go with that, but I don't have any. [huh]

It's a bit hard to tell with the flash on, sorry about that.

Ps: I guess I should 1st ask if it even looks ok with a thin ribbon on or not eh?
I do have wider grosgrain in different colors/widths, if not.

I think it looks great! I think it gives it sort of a country/ranch look. Either color works fine.

Well...the crown is so strong, at least from the angles you show it from, that it seems like the thin ribbon gets a little lost. (and this from a thin-ribbon guy)
I'd try a 5/8" ribbon and see if the balance is better-you're contending with a great crown w/crease, and smooooth transition to a great brim. Think a little wider is a little better. IMO
and - nice hat!

Boy, I like it, bolt. But I, too, would like to see some other, wider ribbon against it, just to see which works better.

Where you getting your ribbon? To find the rayon and cotton blend stuff in anything but "standard" colors and widths I've had to go to the ends of the evilBay earth. Wish it weren't so, but alas ...

Thin is definitely in around here, with RBH leading that look. But, inevitably it's up to you and what you think looks good.

Bolt, my real opinion, the top two pictures (direct profile)..not so good, however it looks great on the bottom two pictures (tilted profile). I'm thinking I bit wider because of the crown profile.

But that's just me....I like the rainbow! lol

My 2 cents....
I think it would work fine with the thin ribbon, the color on the left looks better to me. One thing that I would do is widen the pinch at the top to remove the Raiders type backward slant from the top side profile of the crown, that is with the thin ribbon. I think the pinch would look fine with a 1" to 1 1/2" ribbon.
Nice looking small brim hat however you decide.

I think that hat looks great with the thin ribbon. The brown is my favorite.

but I'd choose a slightly broader ribbon myself

I would go with the width of a Stetson Playboy ribbon, which is around 7/8ths of an inch.

Here's a few more options. The 1st 3 are 1" wide, they are very light gray, dark gray, and a steel blue.

The next 4 are all just shy of an inch and a 1/4, 1 7/16" to be exact. They are: Navy Blue, Maroon/Brown, Chocolate Brown, Gold

Ok, this is all I got, so now you've seen thin, med. thin and med. wide w/ an assortment of colors. What do you like best. Like I said, I value all of your opinions. :eusa_clap
