Thanks everybody....

I'm really appreciating all this feedback and suggestions. Now that I'm even more confused, I have to step back and look at it again with all those changes to see what really pops for me. I'm really liking the idea of a 2-tone bow treatment, I just don't know if I can pull it off though.... [huh]

IMO and for what it's worth, I like the navy. It suits the rust color of the hat very well, I think.

I'm also up for the ladies' opinions. They have the real fashion edge.

I agree Bob, but I haven't heard too much from the ladies....[huh]

Sounds a little husky, GWD.

Possibly a two tone navy with gold accents or a rusty color to pick up the color of the hat....might be hard to find, but it would look good. Again, IMO and for what it's worth.

bolthead, Let's face it, you've got a bunch of good looking combinations. Whichever you choose, the hat will look great! That said, if you don't already have a brown fedora with a thin brown ribbon, it's a great look. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

How 'bout Green?

The next 4 are all just shy of an inch and a 1/4, 1 7/16" to be exact. They are: Navy Blue, Maroon/Brown, Chocolate Brown, Gold

Ok, this is all I got, so now you've seen thin, med. thin and med. wide w/ an assortment of colors. What do you like best. Like I said, I value all of your opinions. :eusa_clap

I got my Green grosgrain in for my other hat in the mean time, and I layed it on this one for the heck of it and Wow....it really Pops.

bolthead, Not only is the green ribbon different, it really works quite well. I'd say, use it on this hat and find another ribbon for the other hat. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

I will respectfully disagree with my Fellow Loungers.

If you go with this one, people will be after you every day, trying to steal your luck charms . . .;)

I just read through this thread you started bolthead interesting thread. I am thin ribbon guy myself and the mixtures of wider ribbons seem to show the hat well. What was the final outcome?

I think the advice is getting a bit wild, colorwise. Most of the flash ribbons will distract -- they'll take your eye away from the hat itself, which happens to be gorgeous. If it were an ordinary lid, I'd say gild the lily. But here the only ribbons that really work for me (and width is the least of your concerns -- all great) are maroon, chocolate, dark grey, maybe silver.

I'd say use the ribbon that's the closest to the color of the felt, without actually *being* that color -- for accent, nothing more.

Funny, I didn't even notice how old this thread is.

If you do need something contrasting, the navy blue is the only one that doesn't blind me.
