Had to get this from Sierra Trading- $22 minus 20%... how far wrong can ya' go? It is described as "brown" in the copy so I ran the pic thru Photoshop in an attempt to brown it up as it looks black in the catalog. Tho' kinda low, I like the 4.25" seemingly, almost taper-free crown. And I intend to tighten the pinch. I can't seem to find out anywhere if this is a real Panama or shantung, but... who cares?
While I was there I got a pair of these Walleroo Duster hats-
In my years long, seemingly unending quest for a cloth summer hat I got the above for all or twelve bucks & got a smaller one for Mrs. Blaine as she is a white girl- Alpine Nordic- (i.e.- Translucent) and the sun down hyre ain't good to her. She hates wearing hats, but I told her it beats cold liquid nitrogen & a #10 scalpel blade laid to your' warm flesh, eh? :eeek:
Anyway- I have high hopes for them both & wanted to let ya'll know- what with summer nipping at our heels, what I had found. Inexpensive offerings- FWIW.
